The beach is outstanding, soft white powder sand that never gets hot, gentle ocean breezes and warm turquiose waters. I normally get bored with beaches after a couple hours but I was reluctant to leave this one and many days I didn't. The cabanas are amazing. Simple, charming, clean, they are perched amongst the trees 25 feet above the sand... more

We would definitely return to Jade Tulum. It's beautiful without being glitzy or touristy. Juan and Martha are very pleasant, welcoming hosts, and very laid back. We admired their committment to maintaining the ecological and ethnic integrity of Tulum - things like bringing in water rather than using wells that damage the local flora, or urging us to visit the... more

We booked Jade at the last moment based on reviewes in this site and were not disappointed Yes, the rooms are not sealed shut, (and therefore we could easily sweep the sand on the floor through the floorboard cracks). Yes, a few mosquitos flew in, but the nets were protective and we did not see a single cockaroach (as former... more

We had planned to stay five nights but left after the first. Jade may have something to offer some guests, I suppose, but, for us, the bottom line is the place is dirty. Really dirty. We feel we were duped by their website as well as some positive reviews on this site and others. We moved down the beach to... more

Hi, Some comments about our stay at Jade. Firstly, should you like ecology, forget it : your shower waters will be dumped onto the white beach. Though we paid more than 160 usdollars a night (of course no invoice!!, no credit card accepted!!) we didn't get a real breakfast !!!! thermos flasks for coffees (nobody will bring coffee to you,... more

My husband and I recently spent ten nights at Jade. It’s a simple, rustic and private hotel set on the most beautiful stretch of beach in Tulum. The hotel is made from local materials and the rooms are simple and functional. Everything has been created with respect for the surrounding jungle, the wildlife and the beach. The entire hotel is... more

If you're looking for an ultra-chill and comfortable place to stay in Tulum, this is it. From the first moments, we felt as though we had been warmly accepted into quite possibly the nicest family on planet Earth. Previous reviewers are NOT overstating how nice the owners are. The unique construction of the structures, the relaxed Mexican vibe (this is... more

Wow, some passionate reviews posted here... some unfairly critical of those who've been critical, I'd say. Having stayed at Jade for a few nights in early Feb, I can see elements of truth in all of them. But to say that if you didn't like Jade it's because you're the Cancun, party-loving type simply isn't fair, nor is it true.... more

My husband and I just returned from five days to Tulum. Before we went, I did a lot of research and came upon this wonderful, gorgeous place. It sounded perfect for us--quiet, respectful, clean, artistically designed. We are not touristy people, looking for action and adventure; we do not enjoy having people wait on us hand and foot like many... more

Well, having just returned from 7 nights at Jade, we can only say positive things. We had a great time in Tulum, largely as a result of Juan and Marta and Jade. Perhaps the 2 fairly negative reviews on this site so far serve one function--they serve as a warning to the "all inclusive", pre-packaged, corporate crowd that Jade (and... more
