We had a great time at the Hotel La Mariposa. The rooms are sparse, but clean and we loved our upstairs balcony. The hotel is located in a Tulum neighborhood off the street, so there is little car noise. Remember Tulum is in the jungle and jungle birds are noisy. The Grackels and the Chachalacas rise earlier than any rooster... more

This hotel is very nice, clean and new. the owners treated us very kindly. We enjoyed our honymoon stay and wormly recommand it to others. The hotel is not in the center but a short walk will get you to the center of tulum. if you want to go to the beach it is a 5 minute taxi drive. more

We were in Hotel La Mariposa in Tulum last August and it is definitely a lovely place to enjoy your vacation!!! Our colored room was very clean and comfortable with AC and any kind of facility (even a small kitchen!). La Mariposa is not on the beach, but it is at a short walking distance from the city center and... more

I spent two nights at hotel La Mariposa in August 2007. Apartments are new, quite big, very clean and comfortable, with a/c. The owners are really kind and helpful and will let you feel like art home...or even better! Moreover distance from shops or bus stop is just few minutes. My suggestion is: try it, you'll love it! more

I absolutely agree with "elironac"! My boyfriend and I had to stay at this hotel for two nights because we weren't able to find another accomodation anymore due to the fact that hotel "Posada Luna del Sur" was fully booked. Ridiculous: Hotel "Residencia la Mariposa" was 10 US- Dollars more per night (than "Posada Luna del Sur"), although it is... more
