In El Paraiso we paid for the night 2 times as much as anywhere else in Mexico (including the capital and Acapulco). So why we stayed there for 3 nights? The beach and the location near the ruins. The rooms were quite big with 2 large beds and we did not have any problems with the toilet paper as the... more

Do not stay at this “hotel/motel”. It is a complete dump!!! • We had regular luggage with wheels, and this entire place is all sand…not fun lugging it up and down hills of sand • The “reception” area was closed off with yellow caution tape, as well as some of the rooms (by the way, there are only about six... more

We stayed at El Paraiso during our Tulum visit for 4 nights. The beach is absolutely over the top with white sands, turquoise water, gentle breezes, international flair of travellers, music and beach massages (divine for $35 bucks!) The rooms are the sparse, typical Mexican rooms......adequate, which was just fine for me. They were clean, spacious and in our case,... more

The beach here is the main attraction with it's incredible, fine white sand, lots of palm trees, surreally colored warm water; walking distance to the Tulum ruins (15 mins). This is a busy pay for access/daily use beach club, however - the motel is an afterthought; and that's ok if you're not expecting to be pampered. The builiding is plain... more

We absolutely love the beaches south of Talum and have stayed in the area several times...at Anna and Jose's (wonderful) and a place just south of there. The beach is soft white sand for miles and miles with small scale hotels and small, excellent restaurants on the beach. Now to Paraiso (misspelled "Parayso" on their own sign: My wife and... more

I visited this place because I was told the beach would be beautiful. The beach was very nice but had a lot of debree/stuff and so did the sand. I sat on a chair and was asked who I was and where I came from and that it would cost me to use the chair. I then left. People were... more

During a day trip to Tulum, my wife and I discovered this beach front hotel and bar that is south of the Mayan ruins on a simply amazing beach. We spent the afternoon on the beach near the bar and dining area and eventually moved to the bar area for a some afternoon cervezas and an early dinner. The beach... more

We learned very quicly how carzy-overpriced Tulum is if you want to sleep on the beach. I think people need to be aware that we got our room for 90 bucks during low-season and this is an awesome deal if you don't want to share your toilet with the rest of the guests. The room was fine, but we weren't... more

We hadn't planned to be in Tulum so hadn't booked and only places left were even more expensive. The beach is nice but during the day crowded with people for the day, and deafening music. Room poorly maintained, but clean, in a cheerless concrete block. At US$130 it was very poor value but then that seems to be the case... more
