Bits of god knows what floating in glasses, a bathroom that had clearly not been cleaned in a long long time, a rock hard mattress, terrible service, greasy food, wifi that wouldn't work half the time and just general filth. Please try and find anywhere else.
This hotel is very very basic. But there is not a lot of choice in Chanderi. It is a wondrous place, so it more than makes up for this simple hotel.
When I was in Chanderi this was about the only place called "hotel". Unfortunately, say that the hotel is dirty would be an understatement...It 's dreadfully dirty, bad food. Absolutey not recommended the laundry service (washing clothes stink over dirty ones). It must be said, however, that the staff is very kind. Despite this, Chanderi is a place worth visiting!
This hotel has a recently renovated wing with AC rooms (n.b., there is typically no electricity in Chanderi from the time you wake up until 12pm when it sometimes comes on for a short time, then goes off again, then usually returns from 3pm-5pm and goes off again until 8pm). The rooms are small but adequate and have private bathrooms....
