We spent the first of our two self-catering weeks in the fantastic one bedroom Cuddy's Croft which has recently been modernised to a very high standard. It is very spacious and comfortable and ideal for a couple. The actual location of Spylaw is first class - it could not possibly be more peaceful and the scenery is magnificent. The second... More

We had a lovely weekend break with our grandson, and wholeheartedly recommend Spylaw to anyone. The hospitality was amazing, with lovely breakfasts and luxurious accommodation. Everything was spotlessly clean, and we were always warm and comfortable. The icing on the cake was when Andy took us along to see the new born piglets. Two year old Jake has talked of... More

If it's peace and quiet your after then this is the place. Beautiful location!! Stunning scenery!! Lorna & Andy are excellent hosts - some extra touches really make a difference. Homegrown food is superb served in comfortable surroundings. We stayed just for the 3 nights - next time it will be longer. More

Our daughter booked a 4-night break for us, staying in the Garden Room in the B&B, as a surprise for our anniversary. Warm and welcoming, Lorna and Andy couldn't have been more attentive hosts if they'd tried - nothing was too much trouble. Their breakfasts are excellent, offering a good choice of home grown, as well as locally sourced, produce.... More

We rented both cottages on this lovely farm for our family. Both cottages were very comfortable and had all the furniture and equipment for a great self-catering week with 3 small children. The children especially love the chickens and turkeys greeting them at the kitchen window in the morning, and seeing the sheep and cows in the field next door.... More

Just back from a two night stay in this lovely B&B. The farm is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. My room was lovely with a very nice bathroom next door. The food is all 'home grown' and delicious and the home made bread is to die for. Top it with home made jam - mmmm. I had the use of... More

We stayed here for the second time for our wedding anniversary in Feb this year -forgot to do the review any earlier. Our first had been 18months previously in the autumn, when we met Lorna's parents who were staying. Both times stayed in Cuddy's Croft on DBB basis -the first time one night, the second, two. Extremely comfortable and relaxing; Lorna... More

Just spent a really great 5 days in Northumberland staying in the B+B at Spylaw. Lorna and Andy are really great hosts, extremely welcoming, the food was brilliant and local knowledge really useful, they even coped fantastically with our 2 year old (who also loved it). Excellent place to stay as a family with lots of room for kids to... More

This was the perfect place for a post-Christmas winter get-away at what is generally accepted to be the most depressing time of the year. Spylaw is in a rural location not far from the village of Chatton, north of Alnwick. It is a challenge to get to if it's snowing! It's an ideal base for walking in the Cheviots. The... More
