After reading Trip Advisor reviews of Hotel Del Puerto, we decided to chance an arrival without reservations in May, 2006. Glad we did not have reservations, which would have had to have been guaranteed since the Ferry from Santa Rosalia does not arrive until 8:00PM or later. Have travel alot throughout all of Mexico for many years, so we roll with the punches pretty good. However, this was definitely not our cup of tea. Rate quote via
e-mail was $55, but we wouldn't have stayed there for 1/2 that. Checked out the room & then politely declined & moved on. There is a void of pleasant acceptable options in the "old" City Centro of Guaymas. The better hotels are $2-3 by taxi from the old city center, but in this instance we were glad to see. If you are OK with backpacker &/or hostel lodging, don't let this review turn you off. I think it's OK in that regard.
