Coombe View Camp and Caravan Site is situated in beautiful East Devon, and a great basic camp site from which to explore the Jurassic Coast and countryside. This is the perfect place to escape the trappings of modern life, and immerse yourself in country life. Apart from the usual toilet, shower, washing up facilities, We do provide free Wifi which covers most of the camp site and a communal freezer, and there are a limited number of electric hook ups, but if you want traditional basic farm camping this is the place for you! Spacious camping fields, camp fire sites, clear uncluttered skies and views over magnificent countryside and sea.

Perfect stay in one of the two Static caravans, there is enough space for 3 adults and a dog to be comfortable. WiFi is free, but is very dependent on usage, we had no issues. Adrian and the owners made us feel at home and are very friendly. Just a heads up as you enter from the road the dip is getting worse due to the wet weather eroding away the gravel. We were fine in our car but caravans and lower vehicles may struggle.

Stayed school holidays, pitches not marked out but plenty of space. Lovely location, views from site. Plenty of hot water in showers, all very clean. Shown to the area where we could set up by the owner . Very helpful owners who were very accommodating about a later departure time, many thanks . We will be back!

Well I wished I had looked more closely at the previous reviews so first of all I called the campsite and spoke to Trevor to ask if I could arrive any earlier I wished I hadn’t, it was a big NO NO from Trevor who made sure I knew he was the BOSS, so we waited until 14:00hrs to be met by a young lad at the entrance to the farm (oh by the way you need please be careful of the huge potholes on the entrance to the farm) riding up and down on a John Deer 4x4 ATV he showed us to our space (this went on most of the day and night) that had obviously had been occupied for a while all the grass was dead and muddy I then went to look at the toilets and showers that were just wooden sheds as the weekend went on more and more campers arrived the site was full to capacity and it was obvious there were no where near enough toilets and showers for all these people. Saturday night arrived and the campsite turned into what I can only describe as a large rave the music was horrendous I don’t mind anyone having fun but this was to the extreme Trevor the owner did have a word I believe but this was way to late😡this was not the only night as it was bank holiday weekend it happened on two or three more nights I did walk to the toilets next morning but thank god I have my own in my campervan. All I can say is please look at other sites before you book this unless of course you like going to raves and do not give a CRAP about the state of the toilet and showers and other amenities on this run down farm I will no doubt get a response to this review but tbh I really don’t care and I would never ever return please stay away This site needs some serious investment but I think the owner is only interested in one thing£££££s in his pocket

Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us. Did you at any point during your stay speak to a member of staff regarding your concerns as we do not recall it? The toilets and showers are basic as it states on all of our advertising but they are cleaned regularly, are stocked well and have plenty of hot water. Unfortunately as with any site it does get very busy on a bank holiday! We have many people who like our site just how it is and come back year after year. The potholes at the entrance have been filled in several times but unfortunately the rain water runoff from the road just washes them out again. We did have problems with one or two lots of campers being very noisy but they were spoken to as we have strict rules of noise after 11pm at night. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about pitches where people have occupied for a longer period of time other than repair them through out of season time and not occupy when we are not so busy. We do care about our site and are not just interested in the ££££££'s

So glad I stumbled across this beautiful side and decided to book. We have a 4 man tent and were in The Paddock. It was perfectly maintained with the most amazing sea view, the owner(s) were incredibly helpful and extremely friendly. The site is close to Seaton, Branscombe and other lovely places to visit (donkey sanctuary is a must). Although ‘basic’, the shower and toilet facilities are very clean and unlike a lot of other places we’ve stayed, you don’t have to keep pushing a button for hot water, good pressure and just the right temperature! All in all a beautiful little site for a great price and we will most definitely be returning.

Great site, with plenty of pitches for electronic and non electronic hook up - also non allocated pitches. Slight sloop on the site but worth it for the sea views. Friendly owner and staff, who left you alone but around if needed. The facilities maybe classed as basic or dated but they did the job of being clean, providing hot water and having little hooks or shelves where needed. Great location of within easy reach of Seaton, which has all the big/little shops required as well as lovely long pebbly beach.

Lovely site very peaceful, miles from anywhere so you need a car, facilities good, hot showers, washing up sinks, toilets, must say the hook ups only run on 6amp so we couldn't boil the kettle in our motorhome.

Thank you for your nice review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. With regards the electric hookups, our supply is not that good hence the reason for the 6 amp.

What a fantastic find!!! - After a disastrous Dartmoor camp in horrendous weather, we swung by Coombe View Campsite in the hope of one good night camping. And what a fantastic find! Just turned up out of the blue, to be met by Trevor (the owner), an absolute gent who was happy to take in two muddy, soaked stragglers. The campsite itself is better than a lot of 'basic' campsites we've stayed at. The area is well kept, clean and tidy and we could choose our own spot. My girlfriend, who hates walking on grass or sand, went barefoot the entire time....her usual fear of stepping on something nasty or painful (broken glass, bottle tops etc) allayed by the well kept grass and fields. Showers and toilets are, again, basic but they too are fabulously clean and well stocked. The showers themselves are a lovely temperature with good pressure. We will definitely use this place again as it's great for a quick, nearby getaway with everything you need for a quiet, very clean basic campsite at a very good price.

Had a lovely couple of days at the campsite, not over crowded, Adrian was lovely and told us about the best places to visit. Toilets were clean and there was plenty of hot water for the showers and washing up. Also had a lovely view from our tent. Our camping neighbours were very friendly and chatty and generous with the wine😁, which was fantastic . All in all a lovely place to stay. We would definitely stay there again.

Came here with my husband and son and our dog, went too the reception and found no one there so I called the number and Adrian answered very rudely when I said I was waiting there, when he arrived he had a cigarette hanging out his mouth the office stunk aswell. The toilet and showers were dirty full of mould, poo stains, they were also so hot from the steam of the shower aswell. Spider webs nails / screws sticking out the fence. There was NO ANIMALS like they say there is, a few sheep in a field which isn't part of the site itself. You're in a field on the middle of now here and you are all put close together so it's uncomfortable if you want privacy as you don't get it. The sea view is ruined by a trailer that they rent out and a caravan too. The workers just drive around the site constantly which makes you feel Uncomfortable. Nothing for kids to do, and dogs have to stay on the lead all the time. WOULD NOT COME HERE AGAIN. If you're a couple who love walking this place is for you. FAMILYS DO NOT COME.

Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy stay here with us. We do state in all of our information that the site is a basic site with basic facilities. The toilets are cleaned regularly and even pressure washed out at least once a week. If you had mentioned your concerns to a member of staff these things would have been dealt with but we do not recall anyone saying anything to anyone.

We stayed here for a week camping in August. Location is good, beach is walking distance although a good 30min walk with family. Campsite is basic but adequate, toilets and showers adequately clean. The field is on a relatively steep slope so bit of a pain things keep rolling away, off table etc Friendly site with our kids playing with other kids and we regularly chatted to other campers Contary to other reviews on here, we had no issue with the owner even if he is a little eccentric. Only real downside is whilst campfires are permitted, they not allowed on ground and site doesn't provide/rent stands so unless you bring your own (struggle getting any more in car!) then no camp fire which was a disappoint
