Just returned from a fantastic weekend in Hope Cove, and we were sad to leave. The room was clean and cosy with a spotless bathroom (my only complaint was the slightly low water pressure in the shower), and a gorgeous sea view out over the bay. Lovely log fire in the bar downstairs; the food was delicious and the wines... More

I stayed here for two nights in January 2012 whilst travelling on business. Hope Cove is a long way from anywhere, so after a long drive I was pleased that when I arrived at 14.00 my room was ready. The room was clean, bathroom very clean, flat screen tv, tea & coffee stuff. Wifi worked OK (was able to have... More

I booked this accommodation last minute as I always do! it was full of character. Very welcoming. Room was comfortable with a lovely view over the beach. Food was fabulous - bar has a big fire and full of local characters and their dogs ! Really nice breakfast. Relaxed stay, no pressure. Will definitely stay again ! More

Perhaps the rain and wind had something to do with it.. Certainly a great location opposite the beach, with wonderful walks on the doorstep; but the experience pretty dire. The bar was dreary, old manky tables were grubby and it all looked unloved. No one had a smile on their face. The food was dire too with the Pork, Leek... More

Just returned from a three night break at this great hotel. We have been coming to Hope Cove for years but have only recent started to stay here. Got a bargain 3 nights for the price of two. Excellent accomodation. This is our second stay at this hotel which is in a fab location in a lovely small cove. The... More

The room (6) was clean as was the bed. There was also a bath and plenty of hot water. The welcome tray was one of the best, it had three packs of buscuits, just what I needed after a day at work. The setting is great, just off the beach. You can hear the sea, but it wasn't intrusive, just... More

We stayed here at the start of September just as the school holiday season finished and the hotel was still pretty busy. The room was nice, but we were overlooking the bar terrace just above the kitchens so it could be little noisy at times. Everything in the room was clean and in good condition. There seems to be plenty... More

This was our third stay at the Hope and Anchor, the location is just stunning, almost on the beach. Breakfast is served during the holiday season in a thatched cottage detached from the main pub/B&B, with views overlooking the cove. Good walks are all around, Salcombe which is worth a visit, is about 3-3.5 hours away at a moderate pace.... More
