Went on the `stay four nights - pay for three` package from Monday night to Friday morning which is good value. Everything was perfect - lovely room good food & service that was first class. The staff were all so professional & helpful yet remained friendly as well. We ate in the Gumstool all the time because after a full... more

We booked this hotel as a couple to get away from the kids for the weekend and enjoy a spa break. However the hotel was full of children, in saying that they were all very well behaved and we had wished we had taken ours along with us. There are not many hotels that I have stayed in which are... more

Overall we though the hotel was excellent. Our room (a family suite) was well decorated as you would expect for a hotel in this price range. The separate room within the suite for our toddler worked out well. We used the baby listening service each night while we ate within the hotel at both the Gumstool Inn and the Conservatory... more

My parents took 15 of us away for the weekend to celebrate their anniversary. We each had a family room which were all nicely decorated and comfortable but not overly inspired, considering I read that they had recently been refurbished by an interior designer. My husband and I had a huge bedroom whilst our three kids were squashed into a... more

Calcot Manor resides on a gorgeous property, filled with rolling farm land and woods. It is a wonderful place to bring young children, especially those 8 and under. They have planned activities daily, an indoor and outdoor pool and bikes you can borrow to ride around the property. The spa building is lovely with a long menu of treatments and... more

As a destination for a romantic weekend retreat, Calcot fails to come close to the standards of Babington, Cowley, Whatley, Charlton, or any of the other similar places that my wife and I have spent long weekends in over the years. However, on this occasion we were taking our son away for the first time, and as a vacation spot... more

We booked a weekend about a week ahead and only after making the reservation discovered that almost all appointments in the spa were fully booked. It is a popular place for locals and it seems the spa isn't able to cope with a full hotel at the same time. Despite having a load of money and time to spend in... more

A lovely place to stay. Receptionist on arrival was very friendly and polite. Our room (Cornwall) had a lovely beamed ceiling and a huge bathroom. Spotlessly clean everywhere in the hotel. We ate in the Gumstool, which was a little expensive for a pub atmosphere but very good food. Had a Swedish massage in the spa which was one of... more

Perfect 2 night stay with our family, the meals in the Gumstool and the Conservatory were of an exceptional standard. Spa treatments and facilites are good. Our granddaughters of 6mths and 3 years had a wonderful time in the playzone and the indoor and outdoor pools. The hotel was full of families with mainly smaller children up to the age of about... more
