Very Very happy. This was our first time to a all inclusive, it was very nice. I would recomend this Barcelo resort. We booked (with Transat holidays) at Colonial, they UPGRADED us to the Palace!!! We traveled through a Delta Airlines package booked through AAA. Having read reviews of all inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya area we had concerns about theft and cleanliness etc. We were upgraded to a 2nd floor balcony room across from the pool and sounds of waves at night. We stayed for a week in Barcelo Maya Colonial in June and it was great. Ground are immaculate, hotel rooms are clean and comfortable, beach is gorgeous. sumptuous hotel, immaculately clean, fabulous location. superb food and superb facilities. Staff cant do enough to help. Perfect beach holiday with wonderful snorkelling just off the beach. No need to bring any local curency, US dollars are far more convenient and if you bring US dollar Travellers cheques the hotel can only exchange them into pesos which is a pain.... more
