We stayed at Hotel Budir at the end of our 12-day Iceland adventure, and it was definitely the best hotel we stayed in in Iceland, and ranks up there with some of our favorite vacation memories. Our corner room was fantastic, with views of the bay and summer waterfalls (though because of how the glass-walled conference room faces, some nosy... more

I can't speak highly enough of this little B&B. Since we traveled in March, we had the hotel to ourselves for the night. Still the restaurant opened for us with an outstanding meal of roast Icelandic lamb, guillemot, delicious Italian wine and lobster bisque. It was truly a magnificent meal. As for daytime activities, you can choose between lounging in... more

In my humble opinion, Hotel Budir is the hidden gem of Iceland. Pictures of the hotel and its setting simply can't do it justice. Be sure to dine at the restaurant and walk the grounds nearby. With a wonderful staff to complement it, Budir is a cozy and charming place to relax on the penisula. Highly recommended! more

stayed there one night during our tour de Iceland. The rooms are small compared to US however the service is much better. Restaurant was great. You definitely need to make reservations at this place because it is usually full. more

We stayed 2 nights in Hotel Budir this July. It's a little tricky to find (no name on the hotel so we drove past it), but follow the signs to Budir, it and the little black church are the only buildings. It's on a small but gorgeous beach. The bedrooms are nice, but we got one of the loft rooms,... more

Stayed just one night early July. Next to last night of a 10 day road trip, so plenty to compare to. Check-in a breeze, room quite good (extremely large by Icelandic standards - perhaps 20 m2). Room was clean and no sulfur in the hot water (which may explain why the hot water was intermittent). Dinner was pretty good, although... more

We spent two nights at the Hotel Buthir on our 10-day Icelandic holiday. The hotel itself sits on an estuary, and is surrounded by grasslands and fields that run up to a glacier-topped cliff. While we were there, the weather was mostly foggy and somewhat moody, which also suits the stark landscape. Reception at the hotel moves at a friendly,... more

Hotel Budir is a lovely hotel is an extremely tranquil location. Thankfully my husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Budir for two nights during our self-drive holiday. The hotel is in a great spot if you are looking to explore the west of Iceland. The entire hotel has been re-built following a fire there so the... more

This is one of the few hotels on the Snaefelljökull peninsula, so you'd better book ahead or you'll be truly stuck! And if you book, you'd better make sure you confirm. We booked, paid a deposit and, when we turned up, the reservation had been lost and we were told we'd have to take our custom elsewhere. It took an... more
