Stayed last weekend, The food was fantastic - dinner and breakfast - so much choice, bang goes the diet! Lovely room, decor looks fresh and everything was clean. Service is friendly. Within 5 mins walk to the ferry into Ambleside. Couldn't be better!

Have visited The Knoll on a few occasions now and have never been disappointed. Peaceful and relaxing. Have the four poster room this time. Superb breakfast choices available. Unfortunately we were unable have evening meal as we had family arrangements in place but menu looked lovely.

We stayed for 2 nights on a Living Social deal. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfortable we slept like logs both nights. The breakfast was exceptional - so much choice. We stayed here using a Living Social voucher so it was £89 for the night, with cakes/sweets and use of the spa facilities at the Swan hotel (a mile away) included. what a great place to stay for a relaxing weekend you are made to feel welcome from the minute you walk through the door. rooms spot on you could not find fault with a thing breakfast was so good lots of choice. But the best bit of all was the evening meal, many thanks Ian and Edith Thomson

great hotel would definitely return here as many others do, lovely location in quieter part of the lakes. The hotel recommended walks were superb. Big thanks to all the staff for a very warm welcome and a truly relaxing break.
