Only stayed for one night - but with great service and being dog-friendly we will probably be back. We couldn't fault anything - at the most 15 minutes from the M6, a warm welcome, large clean room with a huge bed, dog-friendly, great farmhouse breakfast, fantastic views out of your bedroom window, good local pub just up the road and... Spent a night here in September and the lady could not have done more to make a stay welcoming - after a late arrive and having missed the chance to get an evening meal at the local pub she came out with sandwiches cake and even a beer for my stressed out husband! Very good place to stay. More

Classic bed and breakfast home/business. Bedroom - Nice well maintained and freshly decorated room. Bed of the quilt & blanket , rather than the duvet type, period bathroom, however it was warm, homely and plenty of hot water for the bath or shower. The full english breakfast was excellent, however, the hosts are as happy to do scrambled/poached egg on... More

We have never written a review before but this place was so welcoming we've been telling everyone we know about it. The owners couldn't have done more for us; from standing outside so the taxi driver could find the place, babysitting our kids, providing milk for their bedtime drinks etc etc. The food was lovely. All in all I would... More

A group of us stayed at Plum Tree House over New Years' Eve and we had such a great stay. The rooms were spacious, very clean and furnished with the comfiest beds, complimentary toiletries and towels and flatscreen tvs. The cooked breakfast was perfect and we were made so welcome. We would recommend Plum Tree House to everyone! More

My wife and I spent our holiday this year in Scotland. Travelling from Bristol we decided to break the journey north and booked an overnight stay at Plumtree House because it is near to the Lake District but convenient for the M6. The house is in the lovely village of Brigsteer. We had a large bedroom with en-suite bathroom and... More

My wife and I together with our two friends and our dogs spent a great weekend at Plumtree House. Our friends chose the guest house as they were getting married at Kendal registry Office. The village of Brigsteer is beautiful and has an excellent local pub which serves really good food. The village is ideally situated giving access to the... More

We stayed here for three nights to have a leisurely break away and put our feet up, and we weren't disappointed in the slightest! Plumtree House is a very attractive B&B in Brigsteer about 3 miles out from Kendal. Since we don't drive we got a taxi from kendal train station to Brigsteer which only took about 10 minutes, or...
