Came down from CA driving the main route from San Diego to Mulege. The road itself has improved immensely over the years and is nice and smooth all of the way through. Went through a couple of military checkpoints on the way down there and it was no problem from the Mexican military. Gas is available from numerous PEMEX stations...

We traveled up and down the baja recently.
On our trip we stayed at the Playa Frambes Resort for 4 days.
It was under 2 hours from our airport in Loreto and just south of Mulege.
What a beautiful place.
The rooms are super clean and the beds are perfect.
Very private and quiet. It is well lighted at night....
