My wife & I spent Thanksgiving week 2011 at the Mayan Palace and had a great time. The very comfortable 1 BR suite had a balcony looking out over the pool area toward the sea and the sunsetws were spectacular. The maids (both during the day and at night) were very nice and did a great job and their towel... More

Second trip with three other golfing couples. Had a great time again. The furnishings show lots of wear and tear and could stand updating--beds are very hard. We split our dining between the main restaurant and the pool restaurant--not gourmet but certainly acceptable. The waitstaff are super friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous beach and sunsets. We stopped in Puerto Penasco on... More

This was my family's third trip to the Mayan Palace in Puerto Penasco (La Jolla de Cortes), each trip worse than the last. The road to the Mayan off Hwy37 has been redone, the road itself is a nice departure from previous dirt road but Mayan made your trip to the resort 10 minutes longer by winding you through their... The good news: the hotel is nice, in good condition and situated on a beautiful beach. The food is good but not as good as other Mayan hotels. The employees are friendly and try to please. Dawn and sunset are to die for. Very relaxing resort. The bad news: a 30 minute drive from Puerto Penasco. Restaurant prices are double... More

A friend and I, both in our early 60s, took up a local salesperson on his offer of a free buffet if we toured the Mayan Palace and listend to their information about opportunities to purchase a unit in the complex. On arrival, my friend and I met with a middle aged woman, and she told us that we could... More

We were there on a family vacation with a total of 16 people. As soon as we got to the resort we were upgraded to bigger rooms to accomodate all of our party. We mostly hung out at the resort on the beach and in the pool. We went into town a couple of times to have the fish tacos,... More

We’ve stayed at more upscale resorts, but we have to say that our week at the Mayan Palace Puerto Penasco was a wonderful experience. We had a one-bedroom suite for two adults and one teenager, and the room was beautiful and very clean. No issues at all with the room. It’s really “in the middle of nowhere,” but we really... More

this was a great resort...perfect for families! the beach was so awesome, the water is a beautiful sky-blue & the water is warm. there were tons of beautiful seashells along the beach. the pool was also nice, but it was very difficult to reserve good seats around the pool or on the beach. it seemed as if not enough seats... This was our third stay at the Mayan Palace Puerto Penasco (now called Mayan Palace La Jolla de Cortes) and our family loved it as much this third time as we did during our first two trips. One of the things we like best is that the resort is within easy driving distance of our home in Los Angeles. Its... More
