Visited Casa Joya December 2011. Great atmosphere from the minute we arrived we were made to feel at home. The staff are a brilliant fantastic family team. The dinner was brilliant and the hospitality was 5 star. James' dish will top my list for a long time to come, and Mary's warm hospitality is only fit for the stars. This... More

This is one of the best places we have ever been. Very silent and peaceful, the service is very gentle and the food the best. We will come back soon. More

I don't really want to rave too much about this place because I want to keep it a secret! It is so special. The remoteness, silence, peace, and star gazing is amazing, not to mention the food of course. Heaven! More

A warm welcom, cold drinks, a cool refreshing swim in the middle of almondspotted hills and then James' incredible food. Wow! You can imagine how well we slept in our colourful rooms. A complete experience accompanied by a sweet lamblike doggie. Thanks Mary, James and Lilly. And thanks Rita and Ton for bringing us to that jewel. Ron and Joke,... More

The Spanish word "Joya" means Jewel, and from the moment you arrive you will understand why this place is so aptly named. Situated away from all distractions, just getting there is part of its charm. On arrival there is always a warm welcome from Mary, who combines both charm and professionalism to the highest degree. Aperitif’s nibbles and menu's arrive... More

We own an apartment on the coast nearby, and every trip to Spain, the highlight of our stay is a visit to Casa Joya, sometimes just for lunch, but on 'high days and holidays' Casa Joya is perfect for a celebration dinner, and to stay overnight. The area is rich in history, the castle at nearby Velez Blanco, the original... More

We went to Casa Joya for a birthday lunch and as usual we had a fantastic meal beautifully served in their unique restaurant setting. Wonderful atmosphere and our hosts Mary (front of house) and James (chef) made the afternoon perfect. Having tried other retaurants locally it was good to come back here and find that the standard and quality of... More

You must go more than once as the menu is always changing with the seasons and contains local produce and ingredients you could never experience anywhere else. The hotel is quirky and has a style all of it's own, you even yet a nick name if you go more than once. More
