We have traveled extensively and certainly love a first class hotel--the Banff Springs Fairmont is very much at the top. It is a huge castle surrounded by some of the most incredible scenery we've seen (Think Swiss Alps on Steroids). The staff are clearly well trained, very friendly and helpful and more than met expectations. Be sure to take the... more

Ok folks, the regular proviso; I stay in top tier hotels (Ritz-Carltons, Four Seasons, Mandarin Orientals, etc) for over 150 night a year across the globe, and I am top tier card member of all the major hotel groups, so would suggest that I know a few things about what makes a good or bad hotel. I have also stayed... more

We stayed here for a Valentine's getaway. I had originally thought about staying at the Fox but decided to go all out and stay at a castle. I was most impressed by the views at the hotel. Enough snow had just fallen to cover the treetops and give us a great view. The outside of the hotel is stunning. Our... more

stayed for a week at the Fairmont Banff Springs and could not have had a more perfect experience. The package I booked through American Airlines had an awesome deal - with full size rental car, ski rack, heated seats (necessary at 24 below!!) and discounts on ski lift tickets and equipment rentals at Lake Louise. When we arrived at the... more

My husband I stayed here for our honeymoon, and ended up checking out early and went to a different hotel. We went through 2 room changes and ended with a barking dog from 6:45 am until we checked out at 11:00am. We had originally asked for an upgrade for our honeymoon into a suite they would want to stay in... more

One cannot help but be awestruck at the sight of The Fairmont Banff Springs; however, why are the rooms so ho-hum? The resort has to be one of the most beautiful I have ever visited, but I do not understand how the rooms were overlooked in terms of décor, which felt like a room at the Quality Inn than the... more

This was a second trip, with the family for a ski-ing break. The kids have been agitating to return for the last 6 years and nobody was disappointed. The standard of service is extremely professional and friendly throughout. Highlights included the concierge service. There are maybe 100 restaurants in Banff, and they can get busy. Getting the concierge to make... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a week in February. It was a luxurious experience from beginning to end. Although I have skied several times, it was my husband's first time. The hotel was an excellent choice as there were so many other activities going on. We went for a walk through the grounds with a guide.... more

We thought that the beds were surprisingly comfy and the suites were very roomy. The staff were very friendly, especially the concierge. We enjoyed meals there as they were hot, promt and delicious. The pool was always clean and empty. We were dissapointed with the ski store as we found several problems with our equipment. The hotel always had a... more
