5 star for location- on the Bow valley parkway. The hikes to upper and lower falls are great and a must do. We even spotted a mightly grizzly on the way ! We had a single room cottage with fireplace( #34)- would give it a 3star only because we had problems with the maid service- they had left a pile... more

We decided to stay here based on the previous reviews we saw. We were there in September and recently saw some others say something about no visible management and it got us thinking. We think they were right. It did not seem to be necessary. We found everything well placed and friendly. If we needed something we found the crew... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in September in a 2 person bungalow. The room (with double bed) was very small but clean and comfortable and well maintained. I had asked for a quiet location and we were in the back of the property far away from the main road, which was great. Parking was right next to the cabin.... more

We really enjoyed our stay at Johnston Canyon Resort. Having travelled extensively to other areas we were pleasantly suprised. The weather was great and saw some deer, elk and a bear. Unfortunately we did not get our camera out in time to take a decent photo. The staff was friendly and most helpful. Kate at the front desk directed us... more

We stayed at this resort for five days in September. We absolutely loved it's rustic atmosphere, staff, food and scenery. Our cabin was a "Two Person Classic Bungalow" and it was everything we hoped for - comfortable, clean and cozy. We had both a gas and wood burning fireplace. Our first night we had trouble starting the gas fireplace but... more

Spent the last 3 days of our honemoon at Johnston (first 3 days at Beckers in Jasper). Our first impression on walking into the room was that it smelled smokey. Well, that's because the fireplace puts as much smoke into the room as it does up the chimney. Our only attempt at a fire was quickly doused and the doors... more

An evening arrival to my "Fireside Bungalow" was quite inviting. Lights inside the cottage gave a pleasing view of the interior as I approached. The cottage was tastefully decorated, clean, and tidy. The area is peaceful and surrounded by forest. The price is most reasonable for the Banff area. Parking is available next to your cottage for passenger cars. Larger... more

We stayed at Johnston Canyon for four nights recently in Sept. 2007. Our first problem occurred in the coffee shop, where undercooked fish was served to us, and when we complained, the waitress told us she had talked to the cook who said the fish was perfectly cooked. Also, since we had eaten part of the fish, we would have... more

We stayed at the Johnston Canyon Resort from September 1-4, 2007 which we booked via the hotel website about 2 months ago. First of all, it was easy to find and the views from the place were beautiful. Check-in was painless and very friendly. We were in cabin 14A which is a duplex bungalow unit. This bungalow unit has a... more

nestled in the heart of the Rockies, amidst pine trees and squirrels, we dwelled into a fireplace cottage for 3 nights. How brilliant! surrounded by nature, very peaceful, albeit the cracking of the wood in the hearth, we enjoyed having drinks on the terrace. It's Brokeback Mountain! same scenery! same decoration in the house...as if time had stopped for a... more
