I was outraged that when we checked out the front desk attendant actually went to see the room before giving us back the deposit. This has never happened to us neither in Canada nor in Europe. We got a good rate for a standard king room ($139 per night) with just one week's notice. The room was nice.... it wasn't luxurious, but had a clean bathroom, coffeemaker, tv, etc, and was roomy.
