This is a very upmarket hotel. The staff obviously grade customers and how you are graded reflects the service you get. The staff at reception were not at all helpful when we asked questions and fobed us off. The conceirge were not much better. This is a beautiful old hotel right in downtown Calgary. The lobby is lovely, and the rooms are generous in size. Although the bathrooms are a little out-dated, they are well-kept. The location is ideal, one block from Stephen Ave and the Calgary Tower. more

I normally don't stay in the hotels that are usually referred to as luxury hotels. Our group just had an overnight stay and didn't use any of the amenities except the pool. Every time ur in a Fairmont, you know it cant never be so bad. The hotels in nice but a little old now. The location is great n the stuff n bells very helpful. My junior suit was comfortable, spacey n clean :) I'll say, if u dont know where else to stay, this one is a very safe choice... more
