I recently stayed at the fairmont palliser. I have travelled quite extensively around the world and usually stay at 4 or 5 star properties. I've stayed at other fairmonts and enjoyed my experiences there but I did not enjoy my stay at this one. I have to say it ranks far below my experiences at other hotels that should be... more

We stayed at this hotel for one saturday night in October. We booked it online, and chose the option on the Fairmont website for the "weekender deal". We suspect that this reduced rate (still $140 for the night) was the reason why in an almost empty hotel, we were placed in the room that shared a wall with the elevator... more

This is a very upmarket hotel. The staff obviously grade customers and how you are graded reflects the service you get. The staff at reception were not at all helpful when we asked questions and fobed us off. The conceirge were not much better. We were travelling on the Rocky Mountaineer the next day and this hotel is idealy located... more

This is a beautiful old hotel right in downtown Calgary. The lobby is lovely, and the rooms are generous in size. Although the bathrooms are a little out-dated, they are well-kept. The location is ideal, one block from Stephen Ave and the Calgary Tower. more

Always wanted to stay at the Palliser. Fantastic property in the heart of old Calgary. Nice to see a steam room, good pool and hot tub. For the price good room, courtyard room not train side. Lobby is top notch - world class. Would be better if they had free wireless internet at least in the lobby and parking at... more

I have had a mix of experiences in my various stays at this hotel. None of them have been bad, but some more spectacular than others, so clearly it depends who you are dealing with on any given day. Last time I was here, the doorman retrieved my bag from the taxi and had my room key to hand to... more

I normally don't stay in the hotels that are usually referred to as luxury hotels. Our group just had an overnight stay and didn't use any of the amenities except the pool. It was a very nice room with quality furnishings, excellent bath and was very clean. I could certainly see no reason for complaint! I would recommend the hotel... more
