I would have rated this "average" but average hotels at least have access to CBC tv and wireless internet in their rooms. What hotel does NOT have wireless internet in this day and age? It was very inconvenient compared with other hotels we have stayed at in Edmonton to have to chain myself to a short cable and the desk... more

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Mayfield Inn & Suites. We truly do appreciate the feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I will certainly share your comments with our IT department. Wireless internet is something we have in our future plans with hopes of having it installed early 2010. Thank you again for going out...

This hotel was recommended by the Conference Director of my Company. He will be loking for new employment next week!! The carpet to my dark dingy room looked like something from a CSI episode. I paid $160 for a room with NO FRIDGE...give me a break! The toilet was barely attached to the floor...so hang on! Then I found out... more

I took my 2 pre-teens to Edmonton for the August long weekend to see West Edmonton Mall. It was a spur of the moment thing and I was scrambling at the last minute to find a hotel, book flights, car, etc. The hotels at the mall itself were pretty much booked up, and the rooms they had left were astronomicaly... more

When making our reservations we were assured that all of the rooms had been recently renovated. If that is true, they must have been in terrible shape. Our room had cigarette burns on blankets, carpets and curtains, and the mattress had obviously seen too many nights (sagged). The bathroom too was stained and shabby. Unfortunately, it was the primary hotel... more

Pokey smelly little room, heating did not work, bathroom was in need of renovation. Holes in the carpets, grubby hallways. The hallway was littered with dirty dishes from room service when I checked in, same stuff was lying there when I checked out the next day! (Somebody DID come by in the early am to shove the bill under the... more

I spent the week in Edmonton for business and the company chose this hotel. The personnel is very nice and the room is very average, nothing fancy. The restaurant is very good but pricy. The bad thing with this hotel is the music level or their bar. I was on the 5th floor and the music was so loud that... more

I travel to Edmonton quite frequently but had not stayed at the Mayfield so decided to give it a try. I stayed my first night then checked out and moved to another hotel. The rooms are getting old and tired, parking is difficult and overall not worth the money. I ended up waiting a long time for hot water for... more

We are happy with this hotel, especially after booking a junior suite (family of 2 adults and 2 kids). When we arrived, the hotel upgraded us to a business suite which made us very happy. The room is very nice and we appreciated the upgrade. Unfortunately, the complimentary breakfast only covers 2 people. Our kids are not big eaters, so... more

Sorry to say I have stayed here before and was pleased that was three years ago. But this time very disappointed the elevators smelt like a public restroom, the main lobby and hallways smelt like it had recently been fumigated or pesticide of some sorts. Our room refrigerator still had food in it from previous guest. And once we saw... more

The location is poor as it seems to be near an industrial area. It is far from restaurants but if you are into strip joints, there is one around the corner. The food is the worse I have had in a long time. I ordered a salad from room service on my first night here - and it was old... more
