The company I work for gave all of the employees a free night stay at the Metterra Hotel as one of the gifts at Christmas time, so we decided to use ours in January. The free room was for the fire or water rooms but, because we wanted both, we paid an extra $50 to upgrade to the Fire &... more

My 83 year old father and I reserved a room on Sept. 1, 2008 and stayed one night. We were in Edmonton to attend the funeral of one of his old friends. On the morning of the 2nd we were awakened at 7:00 AM to the sound of sheet metal construction on the roof directly overhead. The desk clerk couldn't... more

What a great location, but I never wanted to leave my beautiful room! Bed was very comfortable, shower was great in my luxury water bathroom and staff were very pleasant. Whyte Ave has lots of great restaurants too. Check out Da-de-Os and Muriettas. more

I hate travelling alone but my recent stay at Metterra was great. Clean rooms, super confortable beds and linens. Nice and close to downtown. I did have a rented car. No trouble with the valet or parking on the street overnight. Breakfast was good and the wine tasting was a very nice touch. Would definitely stay again. more

I haven't been to Edmonton in years. On the drive in from the airport I passed several cookie cutter hotels in areas that seemed industrial. I was happy to come into the Old Strathcona section of Edmonton, where the Metterra Hotel on Whyte is located. This area of town has a historical feel while being a bit funky and artsy.... more

In full disclosure, I never actually got to stay at the Mettera. Here is an excerpt of a letter I wrote them following the debacle of our check-in... "Last Saturday evening my sister and I came to your hotel to check in for the night. We had made a reservation weeks prior for a king sized "water" suite. We were... more

My sister and I wanted a quiet hotel with nice amenties on Whyte Ave close to shops, restarants. We thought we had found it in the Metterra Hotel. It looked great on Trip Advisor. Wine tasting, free breakfast, valet parking and quiet elegance. We booked a double bed room; promised free parking; a jacuzzi tub; a quiet room. We got... more

My husband and I spent three nights at the Metterra Hotel. We found the rooms larger than we expected. The placement of the bed and other furniture, and the decor were attractive, pleasing and thoughtful. Although our room was on the Whyte Street side, we were not disturbed by the street noises at night and were able to sleep well,... more

I really loved this hotel, and especially our room. The hotel itself is located right on Whyte Avenue, which is one of the best strips in the city, but it's almost hidden which is kind of nice. Our room was amazing. Nice big sitting area, kitchen and wet bar. The bathroom has a beautiful glass shower as well as a... more

I hesitated on booking this hotel because of the recent write up from 02beaway. But after corresponding with the manager I booked. My husband and I visited Edmonton on the very busy weekend of the Rexall Indy Race '09. It was also our 25th wedding anniversary and I wanted a good weekend. From the time we checked into the Metterra... more
