This hotel was decent for stayin in Nanaimo. I checked in after getting off greyhound and was most convenient as it is attached to hotel. The staff at this hotel are extremely nice and helpful. The rooms are adequately equipped however could use pay per view movies. As stated in earlier reviews and is an older hotel and could use... more

From the outside this hotel is ugly, in fact I think I've seen nicer looking prisons! However, the reception staff are charming, the pool is pleasant, the cold beer and wine store adjacent is very useful and the rooms, although a little dated, are clean and comfortable. On arrival the location looks quite unpleasant with a main highway on one... more

The location is good. Pool is nice. In general the hotel's interior is old and dated. Needs to be updated. Had trouble making phone calls. more

The good: the hotel was very clean and staff were friendly. The bad: the hotel was located between a liquor store and a bus depot; I watched a transient dig through the garbage of the liquor store, watched two youths drinking beer on the hillside behind the hotel, watched people wander from the bus depot thru the back lot of... more

I stayed here on New Years Eve 2004. First off the staff were more than friendly I was really impressed with the service. On the other hand the rooms were probably the worst I've ever seen in a hotel. The carpets were dirty and funishings outdated. The hotel is in definate need of renovations. The bar in the hotel was... more

During the tourist season, you'll be paying $89-99 to stay here and it's not really worth it. The hotel is very run down, with the outside desperately needing a new coat of paint and the emergency exit doors broken and permanently ajar. The rooms are not bad, but a bit cramped, and the drain in our shower was clogged the... more

I stayed here for four nights in May. My room had two queen beds and was very spacious and clean. They had an in-room coffee maker as well as complimentary tea, water and breakfast bars which was replaced daily. In the lobby, they had an internet kiosk with inexpensive minute rates. The room rate was very fair. I booked early... more

Regular price $99 is a ripped off for Howard Johnson. The building is smelly in some area. I would rather go to Travel Lodge and pay $65 per night. more
