Based upon previous reviews in trip advisor, we selected this location. The price was right and so were the accommodations. It was much better than indicated and when next in Vancouver I will return. Tropicana Suites on Robson is the updated name on the Internet. The in-town location is 1 mile from the cruise ship terminal and GasTown and nearer to Stanley Park and trendy Coal Harbour. We have chosen the Tropicana as our accommodations in Vancouver since the mid 1980s. The location and reasonable price hooked us from the start. I must admit, when we visited in 2005 things were getting shabby and the maids forgot to clean our room but that is all in the past. This most recent stay was perfect in every way.... more

I stayed at the Tropicana with my wife, sister, and new baby during a two day stay in Vancouver recently. We found the staff friendly, the room functional, the location excellent and the price quite reasonable.
