We stayed here for three nights and especially liked the location on Robson street. Stanley Park and downtown are only a short walk away. The hotel itself has small rooms but they are totally sufficient if you just sleep there. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you want to you can have continental breakfast in a pub in the basement... more

Stayed 3 nights and the room was very basic - no tea or coffee making facilities, the air conditioner didn't work and the room was very small and stuffy. We were on the 1st floor (our ground floor) at the back so it was nice and quiet, but the hotel is full of stairs which could be a problem if... more

We stayed here for 1 night while in town for a concert because every other hotel we called in the downtown area was totally booked! The place was a total dump - we even found blood stains on the sheets (ewwww)! But the worst part was that in the days after our stay, we all started getting small red bumps... more

My friend and I stayed in this disgusting hotel for one night only..which was more than enough and a complete waste of our money. We may have been better off staying the night on East Hastings Street! Both of our twin beds had blood stains on the fitted sheet, which we discovered when we were packing up to leave, and... more

This hotel is seriously in need of renovation - the toilet cistern in our bathroom did not shut off, so we were shifted to another room. The second room had a slightly cleaner carpet than the first one, but it was right above a nightclub and terribly noisy. We had to have the windows open as we would have suffocated... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Whilst the hotel is in need of refurbishment it was, never the less comfortable. The hotel is on Robson Street and is very close to numerous restaurants and also only a short stroll to Stanley Park. Staff were very polite and helpful. We had a room at the rear of the premises... more

Stayed at the Barclay for 3 nights after a week at Whistler in Feb. Was the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. The staff were pretty weird to begin with, and not very helpful. Just stared oddly whenever we walked past. The room was quite large, but was incredibly musty and had a distinct smell of urine which no... more

We travelled from the Uk on Xmas eve 2008 to go to my son's wedding in Vancouver. After travelling for 24 hours (living in Cornwall we had to travell to London, then flight delay of four hours ) we finally arrived at The Barclay Hotel. It was snowing heavily and we struggled inside with large cases, no body helped. We... more

While this hotel might not be for everyone, there is nothing wrong with it! The decor is dated and yes, there is no elevator and the television is small. But when you are paying $40 a night in the best part of town, you shouldn't expect 4 star luxury! It was impeccably clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the... more

Hotel had a great location and price which is why we booked it. We had low expectations and it was nice that they had a TV in the room. The rooms were old and quite small. I would stay here again, but after checking the prices from the other close by hotels. more
