We checked into the hotel on 12/5/09@ 11pm.The 2 bed rooms apt we had was on the 4th level of the building. Imagine our horrors when told we needed to lug all our luggages to the room ourselves and there was NO elevator! We were from Singapore visiting Vancover for 20days with 7 days on the Alaskan cruise and 4... more

I liked this hotel, so I'll get the complaints out of the way first. They use an old fashioned key system, which doesn't seem very secure. A guest could stay for one night, go get a copy of the key made, then return days after they checked out and rob the current occupant of the room (or worse). Also the... more

Just got back from Vancouver and we stayed at the Oceanside for a week. The location is perfect - one a quiet street one block from the corner of Denman and Davie so you're close to loads of shops and restaurants and there are several regular bus routes. The staff, especially Sam on the desk, were really friendly and helpful.... more

Hotel was in great location. Very safe part of vancouver and quieter area. close to shops etc but still in walking distance of stanley park and Robson. We stayed further downtown later and this area was much nicer/less homeless/quieter area. The rooms were nice and big. The couch was hard to pull out at first but eventually figured it out.... more

We booked this hotel for our one day/night in Vancouver. The price was pretty good considering the location. On the hotels.com website, it indicated that we would be getting a bedroom area with a queen bed and a living room area with a sofa bed, in addition, also kitchenette with microwave. Upon check-in, we were told that there are some... more

During our visit to Vancouver we stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Several items were very strange: Room not ready at 5pm when we wanted to check in. Keys to doors are still the old fashioned way, no cards. We were asked if we wanted to have room service, we asked for clean towels and this never happened. Parking... more

This is not a fancy chain but a small privately owned establishment. Rooms are basic but large. Apparently they will be updating rooms in 2008, which is nice since when we visited, the beds weren't the most luxurious. Great rooms for the price and location. Steps to the beach and Stanley Park, right in the middle of the Davie St... more

We stayed at the Oceanside Hotel in August 2008 for a week. The hotel has an excellent location, close to restaurants on Denman and the walking distance to Stanley park and the beach. A few positives about this hotel. The price is very good for similar apartment-style hotels in the area ($150 a night). Parking is free which is unusual... more

I needed an affordable suite in Vancouver and found the Oceanside. The room was not fancy but clean. The front desk staff, couldn't have been more helpful. Great location and great value. The free parking was a bonus. I would have loved to see a few room amenities such as coffee, paper towels, etc. more

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in June 2008. Plenty of room in the apartment, although I wished for a bedside lamp to save getting out of bed. The room had just been decorated, in fact I think they were decorating throughout. The staff were very friendly. The location was excellent. 5 Minutes walk to English Bay... more
