The Inn is old, but the grounds are well-maintained, the main hotel has character and beauty, the rooms are gorgeous and the staff was courteous and extremely helpful and pleasant. The rooms have been remodeled and are very accommodating. If you are staying here, it is helpful to understand that this is no Ramada and is not for the traveler... more

Although the rooms are charming and the grounds are beautiful, it's a shame but the doors were locked at 10 PM. Our problem was that I had an unexpected invitation that evening, and forgot about the curfew. Getting back to the hotel parking lot was difficult and disconcerting, since the grounds are large with no outdoor lighting and few, if... more

We arrived via Kenmore Air (A fantastic way to get from Seattle to Victoria) and decided to hoof it to the hotel. It was a fair distance and would be better suited to a traveler with a vehicle. We arrived after check-in, but our room was not ready. We were put in the main building right next to the "housekeeping"... more

We booked a night at the English Inn after looking at the rather inviting pictures on their website, hoping to stay at a charming boutique-style hotel in a traditional setting. We were disappointed for several reasons: - When you arrive after 9PM (which you will, if you use the last ferry from Port Angeles) - you will have to pick... more

During high season for the low price offered this is probably the best deal you can make. I very liked the combination of modern furniture in the old building, the room was spacious and clean and had a wonderful balcony. The breakfast is modest and there is no elevator. But staff is very friendly and it's overall a good atmosphere.... more

Although these buildings appear somewhat Victorian on the outside, the main building, at least, has been remodeled into a very modern dining facility, lobby and bar on the main floor. Our room was appointed with modern furniture as well. There are extensive English gardens, but they were not well kept so you found yourself trying to imagine being in a... more

We stayed here 40 years ago and enjoyed it. We stayed in the same room this time and was fine. We were disappointed in the comptemporary touch. One of the reasons we come back was for Anne Hathaway cottage. What a disappointment. The grounds were not taken care of. We willl not be back. more

It must have been beautiful in its time. The property is facinating....the design, the gardens, the buildings, the theme. The property is tired and in need of an infusion of cash. Unfinished amenities, over grown walkways, need of paint. It could be brought back to its original glory, but I'm not sure it would cash flow. The restaurant menu is... more

Having stayed at the English Inn before, I was surprised to see that it was starting to run down a bit. The garden was somewhat overgrown, the plants in the restaurant were starting to die, and some of the front desk staff were dressed for a rock concert. Dispite this, I was quite satisfied for $78.00. I had a large,... more

Very tastefully appointed lobby and restaurant. Good food, but pricy. No elevator or help with heavy luggage to second floor. Our room was large and clean but I counld not sleep in the bed because the sheets were not fitted and the mattress pad was undersize and kept bunching up under me. Posatge stamp pillows. I cut the top of... more
