We didn't check trip advisor about the 10.00 a day parking which didn't seem right because we were in the hotel parking lot and staying at the hotel but still had to pay. The staff was excellent looking things up for us, providing a crib and just overall courtesy. The room was stuffy but had ceiling fans. We got a... more

We stayed at the Dalton hotel during the May long weekend. I was a little hesitant to book our hotel room after reading all of the reviews, but decided to go ahead and try it since most of the reviews seemed a bit dated. I'm not sure if the hotel is still in the process of being renovated, but our... more

We've stayed at the Dalton before, mainly because of it's location. The rooms are a bit of a crap shoot as the building is undergoing renovations and is quite old (est. 1876?). Your choices are the rooms facing an inner courtyard that are generally smaller and a little dark. Your other option is a street side room facing out on... more

A good base for a trip to Victoria, centrally located. The room we booked was quite nice but the heating could not be turned down ( it felt like a tropical greenhouse) so we were moved to the suite next door. Once again the room was perfectly adequate but it took eleven minutes of continuously running the hot water tap... more

We stayed here for 2 nights in August after catching the ferry from Vancouver. The hotel is in an excellent location, within easy walking distance of the shopping areas and the harbour. Parking is also available near the hotel for $10 per day. The rooms are quite small, but perfectly adequate and well presented. Breakfast was included in the price... more

The hotel has a good central location and is good for a night. The rooms have been partly renewed. The hotel is an old building and so are the rooms. All the sights in Victioria are reachable by foot. The breakfast is above average for a continental breakfast. +Central location +Clean room +Breakfast is above average for a continental +Wireless... more

Stayed 2 nights, enjoyed the proximity to the downtown core - walked everywhere - no need to rent a car to see the best of Victoria. Room was dated, somewhat shabby, but clean, and this, I expect, is what you get for such a decent rate to stay in the downtown area. Forgotten items in the closet were found by... more

If you're going to victoria on a summer weekend, be prepared to pay through the nose for hotel stays. I opted for the Dalton because it was affordable ($115) and downtown. My summary -- very good customer service, but awful rooms. Location was pretty good. Close to shopping, and China Town, and we walked to the Empress. Lots of coffee... more

The lobby of this hotel is very nice and we could tell that they were in the process of renovating the rooms. Our room, however, was stuffy and dirty. The night table and desk area had sticky rings where previous guests had spilled drinks and coffee. The blades of the ceiling fan were loaded with dust. The bed and bedding... more

was travelling to Victoria with a buddy to visit some friends, so I decided to try the Dalton Suites. We stayed there for 3 nights . . . all in all I felt the place was one or the worst hotels I've stayed in but it had a couple of bright spots and considering what I paid per night ($96... more
