We've stayed at the Dalton before, mainly because of it's location. The rooms are a bit of a crap shoot as the building is undergoing renovations and is quite old (est. 1876?). We stayed here for 2 nights in August after catching the ferry from Vancouver. The hotel is in an excellent location, within easy walking distance of the shopping areas and the harbour. If you're going to victoria on a summer weekend, be prepared to pay through the nose for hotel stays. I opted for the Dalton because it was affordable ($115) and downtown.
