We came to Victoria to celebrate a 60th birthday and had three rooms for 3 nights at this hotel. I wasn't sure about it as some of the reviews were not great, but this was a lovely hotel and worth every penny. Compared to other hotels I researched, the rate for this hotel was really good for the high season.... more

My wife and I spent one night at this hotel. The hotel is a little dated, and most importantly the rooms have no air conditioning. We are accustomed to sleeping with the air blasting and had to settle for an oscillating fan. Be careful when booking your stay. Our planet has been known to have unexplainable heat waves and you... more

We did not expect much as we booked through a travel agent but when we arrived at 10pm as we were delayed the staff could not be more helpful. They had kept the room even though we had not told them we would be late and as it was too late for the resturant the reception staff made us sandwiches.... more

Excellent location, near the city center and parliament. From our room it was possible to see the shore. Rooms were bigger than expected and also very clean. GREAT COST BENEFIT! more

The check-in staff were less than welcoming, the first room we went to was a Junior Suite. It had a bad smell from the kitchen and the t.v. sat in a cupboard that did not have a swivel base so it faced the sliding glass door, not the bed, nor the loveseat in the sitting area. The only way to... more

The location is really nice. It's across the street from the gray line tours which can take you to the gardens. The hotel is nice and has a nice restaurant. The only thing is it has no A/C, and it was a little warm when we were there in July. We just opened the sliding glass door and it was... more

If you're looking for character, charm or class -- and in a city like Victoria, you should be -- then the Queen Victoria isn't for you. It's a pretty characterless place, not bad but not particularly nice. I get the feeling it would like to be grand but can't afford it! The lobby, for example, is gorgeous, comfortable, with a... more

The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms and bathrooms in them are spectacular. The pool and sauna are exceptional. The showers in the pool area are slate and very fancy. The only thing is the pool is not designed for young children. It is already 5-6 feet deep at the bottom step so kids cant stand in it. There are also... more

Recently spend 4 nights in Victoria and after checking out the QV website I was looking forward to a vacation on vancouver island. Firstly I didn't have any major issues with the Hotel. More a case of several minor disappointments. At check in staff seemed to be reluctant to welcome us as neither really wanted to be bothered. Check in... more
