This was by far the best B&B we have stayed at in all our travels. I chose Amethyst Inn over other B&Bs based on the raving reviews on Tripadvisor, and I am thankful I did. After our stay, I could fully understand why every reviewer sang praises about this place. The house itself is a beautiful and elegant old Victorian,... more

First the hosts, The Chong's are Fabulous. Shelly's breakfast were very good, and filling. ,We stayed in the Duchess room which was the original master bedroom of this large Victorian home built in the mid 1800s. You can read the Inn's history on-line, sadly the grounds mostly all gone, but the house is in a secure compound. You can walk... more

We stayed at the Amethyst Inn and had a lovely time there. The staff was so friendly and they made us feel very much like friends. The breakfast was amazing and delicious. After a 5 hour flight, waiting in a 2 hour customs line and a 90 minute ferry ride, the beautiful Amethyst Inn was a welcomed sight. From the moment we walked thru the door we knew we were in a special place. The Inn is a grand home build in the late 1800's,with many original features in tact. The Inn... more

I traveled with my college roommate (circa 1968), and we were both treated like Queens at the Amethyst Inn. Before and during our stay, all our questions and/or needs were responded to with the most complete effort to make our stay perfect. The historic home is kept in immaculate condition, and quite lovely in its appointments. The generous breakfasts are... more

Fabulous old house with every modern amenity. Great location, no need for a car. Friendly, informative, charming hosts. Excellent value. Amazing cooked from scratch breakfasts. Don't hesitate! (The two negative reviews relate to previous ownership) more

We were very pleased with our stay at the Amethyst. Shelley and her daughters were most accomodating from the moment we drove in the driveway. They sincerely wanted to please us. We all enjoyed the delicious breakfasts that were presented in such an elegant manner. One of the best B&Bs that we've stayed in. more

Shelly and Jennie greeted us when we arrived and showed us our rooms. They had maps of the area, menus of area restaurants and made reservations for us for a whale watching tour. They were even ablet to convince the whale tour company to pick us up at the B&B. Breakfast was amazing. more
