The room was clean and very comfortable. Bathroom has been updated & is nice. There is no in-room tea/coffee, but you can get real tea and real coffee free from Room Services - as many times as you like. You can also order tea/coffee for the morning along with a newspaper. Every time I ordered tea, it came with a... more

It was terribly cold when I landed in Winnipeg, but the Fort Garry Hotel was an oasis of warmth and comfort. It is an old hotel, and the charm of an era gone past has been maintained very well in this gem. This was a working visit and with the extreme cold -30C, I decided not to venture outside as... more

We spent a Saturday night over the US Memorial Weekend here. I have stayed at the Fort Garry many times over the years and the service never disappoints. The price has sky rocketed since the first time I stayed here in 1998 but the exchange rate doesn't help that either. The 24 hour free tea/cookie service is great as well... more

I stayed at this hotel as part of a polar bear travel package. Stayed there the first and last night of the package and thought is was really pretty bad. The lobby and banquet rooms are very nice. The rooms are in need of some serious updating. Plumbing is old. The worse part was that there is no thermostat in... more

I have stayed at the Fort Garry several times in the past as well as other hotels in Winnipeg and I've decided that the Fort Garry is my best option while visiting Winnipeg. On this particular trip, our stay at the Fort Garry was very nice and we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room as well as... more

I was so looking forwarded to staying at the FG, as I have always admired the exterior architecture and assumed that the interior of the Hotel would be as magnificent. The foyer remains grand, but as we exited the elevator and headed to our room my stomach dropped. The hallway and "executive" suite was reminiscent of the hotel in the... more

Hotel Fort Gary is an amazing historic hotel in downtown Winnipeg. It really is a castle, dating back from the 1900s, when the city was just being built. The lobby was full of people, live piano music and a foyer lounge called 'The Palm Room'. It feels like a 1920 piano bar (because it is!). The food is fantastic and... more

Enjoyed our stay here. Spent three nites. Two nites on the front end of our Churchill Polar Bear Trip and one nite at the end. The hotel is lovely and historic. Enjoyed having a drink in the lobby bar. We walked across the street for dinner two nites to "The Keg" Steakhouse. Great food! Had a banquet meal at the... more

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip last month. Travelling extensively and staying at many hotels, I have to say that I found the accomodations very comfortable. The bed is heavenly to say the least. The rooms are clean and I would not hesitate to stay here again. For afforadable accomodations in Winnipeg, I would definately stay here... more

We stayed at the Fort Garry in January 2007 for a wedding. We loved the room, nice size. The bed was the best as it was the best sleep that we have had in a long time. We had the famous Sunday Brunch - food was awesome and the service was excellent. Great stay overall! more
