Interesting to see that the review written two months ago also mentions that one of the two elevators was broken. It is still out of service, and that one fact sums up what is wrong with this hotel: also peeling paint and stained carpets throughout the building. The pool is closed for maintenance - and looks as though it has... more

Beware! Where should I start? The first thing we noticed upon check in is that one of the two elevators was broken. In the room the furniture looks old and worn. No towels, or toilet paer in our room. Not one of the ice machine worked, and no pop in any machine on any floor. The pool was out of... more

This was the least expensive airport hotel listed on the internet. I found out why. The check in went smothly. The lobby, elevator and common areas were very dirty and worn down. The room itself was typical hotel room of this tyype of hotel. It was clean as far as I could tell. The dining room was dirty with a... more

Upon landing at the airport in Winnipeg, I needed a room for the night. I checked the hotels board and the first hotel I tried was full, so I tried the Howard Johnson. Cheap, and it had a shuttle. So, I called, only to find out they had a room, but no shuttle, although they advertised as having one. It... more

Filthy rooms. Questionable clients hanging around the front door. Had to use considerable force to open room door because door jam broken. Bedsheets looked like cheesecloth. Huge lump in mattress. Stay away from this rat trap. more

I WISH I LOOKED AT THIS REVIEW BEFORE I BOOKED, It started out when I got off at the airport and the hotel did not show up on the travellers information board, I asked an information attendant, which he replied that they could not afford the advertising and to call directly, which I did, the schuttle that showed up was... more

I needed a cheap place to stay, near the airport for an early flight two days later. I did NOT see vagrants, blood, or urine that are mentioned in other reviews. (Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews before I booked.) Initial disappointment: the delightful lady at the airport information desk called the hotel for the airport shuttle pickup. After... more

I don't even know where to begin! It's January and the windchill is -43 outside and the Howard Johnson hotel puts people who are staying long term in a room with no heat?!?! The room when my husband walked in had cigarette butts on the T.V..room was totally disgusting! When he called the front desk regarding the cleanliness...he was told... more

I do not recommend this stay for anyone. Upon arriving, there were seedy looking characters hanging around the lobby. As we were checking in, ambulances and fire trucks were there to take a guest to the hospital. When we arrived in our room, it did not look clean. Upon checking out the bedding, we found blood stains and other bodily... more
