If you're working in Moncton, take the drive to Shediac to get a more Atlantic feel. Tait House is a restored mansion from early potato farmers. The food was exquisite. I thought I should be having lobster (given the location) but maybe they figure that's over done, cuz there was none on the menu! I had shrimp and scallops instead.... More

We stepped in the hotel on a stormy evening of a very cold New brunswick spring day. So we were very pleased about the cosy hotel with a very friendly manager and stylish comfortable und individual rooms. And we were very happy about the excellent lobster meal we got in the delightful decorated restaurant.

We just returned home from a beautiful stay at the Tait House. It was just exceptional service, we cannot say enough about the wonder food and service. The staff is just incredible without the feeling they are trying, it was so natural and wonderful, you felt part of a larger family. The room we stayed in was # 8 and... More

Expensive, yes... but worth it for the giant soaker tub alone. We stayed here after a day of surf and sand. A multi-head shower stall in the large roomy bathroom was the perfect way to blast the sand away. The stalwart king size four poster bed was comfortable but noisy for sleepers who do a lot of tossing and turning.... More

I had the priviledge to eat there last night, the 2nd of August 2012. The service was excellent, nice wine list and the food was incredible. From the appetizer, crab cake, to the main course, Surf & Turf, the meat (I like it rare) and it was so tender and cooked to perfection. And the dessert....hmmmm. I had a nice... More

This house is amazing and has a lot of ambiance. The service and breakfast were very good. We enjoyed a wonderful after dinner drink at the bar. Only the beds were a little bit too soft. Anyhow, a great place to stay in Shediac.

Wonderful rooms but the breakfast was the worst we ever experienced in any B&B. Stale pastries, brittle butter in small plastic containers and some fruit. One had the impression that saving money on breakfast was more important than pleasing the guests. Most chain motels have more variety for breakfast. Some hot breakfast items and fresh butter would have been nice.... More

We enjoyed four nights at the Tait House in late August. Friendly staff, okay breakfast (smoked salmon and fruit every day? Need to add some variety), wonderful historic home that has been well taken care of and very comfortable. Down side is this is mostly a dining room with a few rooms up stairs for overnight guests. There isn't a... More

I stayed at Tait House just recently. The Inn was the site chosen for meals and business for our group of 20. Most rooms were occupied by our group, some accompanied by spouses. Others stayed at nearby B&B's. From greeting to departure, the entire staff exemplified calm and reassuring expertise regarding every detail that arose.Maritimers have a way to calm... More

I took my husband to Maison Tait for his surprise birthday getaway night. The night was fantastic. Check-in was speedy and so personal (the chef himself checked us in and gave us advice on where to eat for lunch...which was a short walk from the inn and we were delighted with fresh, local gourmet lunch in a quaint setting). Our... More
