I just wanted to say that I'm pretty disappointed in my experience with the Balmoral House. The place itself was very pretty although when we arrived it was empty and pretty lonely for my elderly mother to stay in. We were there because my dad was taken to the hospital from the Western side of the Island. Her room was... more

I delayed booking a hotel in St. John's. Didn't count on the Prince of Wales being there and that all the downtown Hotels would be booked. I couldn't get a car rental either. I called around and managed to get the Balmoral Inn, located on Queen's Road. Must be a B&B alley as it is all historic mansions or Inns.... more

I love Balmoral Inn in St. John's, NL...nestled on an old city street in downtown St. John's with a spectacular view of the beautiful St. John's Harbour. The Inn is very tastefully and beautifully decorated; the hosts are friendly and seem to enjoy meeting the needs of their guests. David & Kim take great pride in offering a great place... more

Loved my stay at the Balmoral . The Staff especially David was of great help , very friendly and loved his assistance. The Conditon of the room upon arrival was remarkable and up to standard expectations. I certainly recommend this Inn to future travellers to St.John's . I rate this Inn a 4 1/2 Stars. Very Pleased And look forward... more

Balmoral House was to be our highlight B&B of our recent trip to Newfoundland and we were disappointed. The website implies a lovely breakfast (the photo looks gourmet). Breakfast is "self serve" with the food left in the fridge and on the counter. Fresh fruit is peel your own apple, banana and oranges on the dining table. Reach into a... more

My husband and I visited St. John's last November and stayed 3 nights at the Balmoral Inn. As it is a business/leisure trip, I wanted to stay in a place that is both homelike and also convenient as an office. The Balmoral inn definitely meets the former criterion, but not the latter. It is a 3-story home with Victorian-style decorations.... more

We stayed at the Balmoral Inn for five nights in June. The room was a decent size - could have used a little more space but it was fine. Lovely building with period furnishings and excellent central location, yet not on a 'main drag'. Walking distance from The Rooms, downtown, George Street and pretty much everything else. "Serve yourself" breakfast... more

We just spent three nights at the Balmoral Inn, we really enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful, as was our room, which was very elegant. It is centrally located in St. John's, has great parking spots, and kind hosts. The only drawback is the breakfast is very basic. No frills whatsoever. You can choose from a selection of cold... more

The Balmoral is a four room inn, conveniently located near the St. John's harbor. The accommodations are charming and very comfortable. Potential guests should be aware that this inn is not really a B&B in the sense that a warm cooked breakfast is not available. The innkeepers are not on the premises; in fact, we stayed four nights and never... more
