The Bread and Roses stands as a highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. We stayed two nights. The ambience of the place was historic and charming, even for us early 30-somethings. Jim and Gaya were warm and excellent hosts. They gave great advice on things to see and do in town, and pleasant evening conversation in the parlour. The... more

My husband and I stayed at the Bread and Roses B&B on August 10th and 11th, 2009. Our room (Room 7) was a 3rd floor corner room, with 2 large windows, overlooking the parking lot and backyard (beautiful yard). While the Annapolis Royal Legion is directly behind the property, we were not disturbed by any noise. The room was beautifully... more

Liked the breakfast, the owners, had a large room on the 3rd floor which was also nice. With these old mansion's you have to be on the top floor or else you hear every foot print above you. I was surprised to hear the person below us snoring so loadly that I couldn't sleep. Not sure if I would stay... more

We stayed in June 2009. It was an unexpectedly delightfu lexperience. We had a beautifully decorated queen room with 2 windows overlooking the property. There were high quality furnishings and linens. All tastfully decorated to suit the historic house. We were pleased with the warm and comfortable feel of the inn. After coming back from dinner one evening. I went wandering... more

Our stay at Bread and Roses was one of the best B and B experiences we have ever had. Bread and Roses had it all. A beautiful Victorian Mansion, with a very spacious and well furnished room with attached bath. Excellent breakfast. Charming and informative hosts. And all for a price (albeit it was late in the season) that matched... more

During our three week visit in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, we rated the Bread and Roses B&B the best accomodation of the many B&B's and Inns we stayed at. The house is fantastic. Well preserved. The hosts were friendly. They encouraged the guests to join them in the living area for evening conversation. The breakfasts were well prepared. more

We stayed at the Bread and Roses 1 night as we were touring the Maritime provinces. We found the home and grounds beautiful and full of charm. We stayed on a Sunday night which just so happens to be the evening of the weekly graveyard tour. It was only 1 block away from the Bread and Roses. It was a... more

Last month we spent a night at the Bread and Roses B&B. The house is beautiful and very elegant. Our room was just gorgeous and spacious with a huge (and extremely comfortable) canopy bed, fireplace and plenty of windows. It is centrally located to all attractions. Although the hostesses may be a bit reserved they were definitively courteous and gave... more

Our experience was one that approximates a Jeckel and Hyde situation. The rooms and the B&B were fantastic. Anything we asked for we got but it felt at times that it was done so almost begrudgingly. In most B&Bs in which we have stayed we have felt welcomed and comfortable. Here that wasn't the case. For example, when we first... more
