Stayed here on business. The location is good, central for downtown Halifax and the waterfront. The hotel itself is Victorian through and through including the building, decor and atmosphere. The public areas have charm and there is free tea and coffee available in the lobby. My room was small, verging on pokey. It was also very dark. The furniture had... More

Whilst our rooms were somewhat on the small side, you do have a 'room type' choice on booking and we went for the cheapest. The bed was comfortable and really good pillows. The room was clean and the shower excellent. The hotel itself was what i would call quant and old world with character which you do not get in... More

It was my first stay at the Waverley, and since I had heard so many rave reviews about it, I had high expectations. I must confess I was a little disappointed in the experience. Although it's beautiful and clean, it felt like a commercial hotel. The room was quite small. I have no particular complaints except to say that I've... More

After arriving from Montreal by train (which was great by the way) , we had only a small walk of 350 meters from the train station to the Waverley Inn. Beautifull old house with big confortable rooms. Continental breakfast is OK. Good restaurants nearby or just a short walk to downtown. Free wifi, the staff were helpfull and the rates... More

I'm currently staying at the Waverley Inn and am so glad that I chose this hotel. It has everything that is needed and more. It's clean and well-kept. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is free internet access and a full breakfast. And - mostly importantly - it's simply beautiful, historic and charming. Should I return to Halifax, I will... More

Stunning old house with friendly staff. Helpful directions to sights and local restaurants. 10 minute walk to downtown area. Lovely and fairly substantial buffet breakfast. Free Wi-Fi and parking a plus. Rooms clean and good bed; quiet stay.

I stayed for a week and found the hotel clean and comfortable.Nicely decorated with antique furniture, bedding was OK but not great (I suspect not 100% cotton). Initially I was given room 120 which smelled of food. The staff were helpful and they used an ozone machine for 20min which dealt with the problem somehow. The next day they gave... More

the waverley inn is quite beautiful... with wonderfully historic feeling. it's also got a great location and is within easy walking distance of gorgeous architecture and delicious restaurants. it is also very reasonably priced... especially when you consider the perks mentioned above as well as the charming service and yummy breakfast. :)

Nice 19th century hotel with characters. Our room, the roman sister was burgundy in tone with a unique shaped headboard. it was comfy and clean. Only complaint was a ticking noise coming from the pipe above the closet that was disturbing us at time. Other than that it was pretty quiet. All the staff were nice and helpfull. Special mention... Spent two nights in this lovely building and was close to all amenities. Walked all over the city. Clean room. Bed was ok but the mattress needs to be replaced. The featherbed topper just isnt quite enough. The blues bar across the street was pretty loud but I was up anyway. The bathroom was spotless and the tub surround was... More
