The price was right but the room we stayed in required maintenance. Mirror and coat rack falling off the wall, broken baseboard heater, etc... Staff was courteous and the facilities were clean. Location was excellent. Pay-for-parking was a disappointment. more

TIP: $21 (one-way) Airporter operates from YHZ to most of the hotels in the area, including Atlantica. The Atlantica was a great value for the money. Upscale, clean. It is is walking distance of the Citadel and the harbor /restaurants. There is an extra charge for parking, however. more

We just returned home from our daughter's wedding which was held at the Atlantica on September 19th. The wedding and reception/dance were held in the Guild room and the hotel staff did a fabulous job in the decorating and setup. BEWARE. If anyone hears about the "New Atlantica Hotel" in Halifax and thinks it will be a new hotel, think again. The "New" Atlantica Hotel is an unrenovated, rundown ex-Holiday Inn. They make it sound like it's new and so very nice, but they've just spruced up descriptions and put strategically taken photos to make it look new and nice.... more

To anyone going to Halifax to settle their kids into Dalhousie, the Atlantica hotel is ideally located. It is within 10-15 minutes walk from the University. The rooms are clean and the beds very comfortable. It was difficult to control the temperature of the water from the shower as it seemed only have two settings, luke warm or scalding hot... more
