Supposedly the U.S. consul once lived here. Our large, comfortable room included a fake fireplace with fake fire and a bed with a canopy top like the ones you imagine royalty used, and maroon silk drapes. Everything was clean; we had a refrigerator in the room and wineglasses provided, along with a coffee setup and wi-fi. A balcony would have... more

Stayed at the Consulate Inn B&B for one night in September 2004 during our road trip through the Maritimes (Tripadvisor doesn't have the years go back that far). Lovely B&B! We stayed in the Lower Garden room which offered some privacy. The bed was slightly lumpy. Also has a kitchen if you're there for more than one night and wanted... more

My wife and I stayed here one night on our way to Prince Edward Island. I chose this bed and breakfast for its proximity to the PEI ferry, its history and frankly its price, since many of the other rooms we booked in Nova Scotia were quite expensive. The room we stayed in cost $79, much less than the other... more

I just got home from a 2 night stay at the Consulate Inn. Debbie & Garry are the best hosts. They have opened their home to many people & it is obvious that they enjoy having lots of company!. I brought my 89 year old mother with me on the trip as she hadn't been to Nova Scotia in over... more

Stayed at Consulate Inn in Pictou early August. Found it to be the best B&B we stayed in for all of Nova Scotia. The room was comfortable and beautifully furnished. Breakfast served individually on the back sun porch---eggs, sausage, good coffee. Nothing lacking. The inn has upstairs sitting areas with computer, games, books, & dvd's. A friendly resident cat, Toby,... more

I have stayed here several times whilst meeting up with my sister and brother-in-law from Ontario each spring and/or fall to visit my mother .. The innkeepers, Debbie and Gary, are both very friendly and accomodating to their guests, and to make my day they have an equally friendly cat by the name of Toby. The breakfasts are very delicious... more

We've often stayed at the Consulate Inn while in Pictou. Each year it has been a pleasure to return here as we have been made to feel right at home while at the Inn. Our favourite rooms have been the Judge's Chambers, the Bermudiana Suite and the Thistle Room. Each of these rooms offer a lovely view of the Pictou... more

During my stay at the consulate the owners were extremely welcoming and made my stay very comfortable. The building is rich in history, with very clean, up to date rooms. I enjoyed the breakfeast very much. The town of pictou is full of friendly and interesting people and if you find yourself travelling through Nova Scotia I would encourage you... more
