This is a magical place to stay but you must request one of the original log cabins. The restaurant is very good. Nice service. Take the trail walk through the woods-- it will remind you of days at scout camp. I have stayed twice at the lodge...once on a bus trip (Aug)with my daughter and since we enjoyed it so... more

Stayed at this lodge last week in one of the cottages. Was attracted to it because it advertises full kitchen, suite facilites useful to a young family. However on arriving last week the cottage smelt musty and full of very old fittings. May be trying to look quaint but looked just tired and in need of a facelift. The kitchen... more

I must say I came on here to rant and rave about Pictou Lodge Resort and to my surprise saw a previous negative comment and was shocked. My family and I stay at Pictou Lodge Resort every year and keep coming back because of its excellence in service, accommodations and food. We are always made to feel at home, just... more

A wonderful and beautiful place. The cabins are meticulous maintained as well as the grounds. Staff is pleasant and service was excellent. The chef has created a delicious menu and the brunch is second to none. This is a true gem in Nova Scotia. more

WOW! What a quality resort. Pictou Lodge is located in one of the most beautiful locations in Nova Scotia. My 2 sons, ages 9 and 11 and I just spent 3 incredible, fun-filled days enjoying Pictou Lodge. It was my first stay at the Lodge and I was really impressed. My boys enjoyed the clean warm pool, riding the quality... more

The Pictou Lodge Resort is a bad example of maritime hotels. This place is run down and old. Everything has a musty smell to it. The grounds are hardly kept up, the only thing going for it is that is located right on the Northumberland Straight. I spent nearly a week there this summer and did not enjoy it. The... more

I realized when I booked that the Pictou Lodge was not the Four Seasons, however even so I was not at all happy with this experience. I left a day early, in fact. The rooms were musty and very motelish--not what I was expecting from a "lodge" that advertises itself as "Top Rated Canada Select Pictou Lodging" on their web... more

I and my wife (age 40 yrs.) are from Toronto and were travelling from Charlottetown PEI to Cape Breton Nova Scotia on vacation. All we wanted to do was drive and relax. We happened on Pictou by chance while looking for a room; one of those "let's see what it's like" things. We scouted the town, which is a cute... more

We stayed a couple of nights at the beautiful Pictou Lodge. The resort was built in 1926 by Canada Rail and has the charme of the classy rustic resort. The main lodge is a big wooden structure and we enjoyed their Jazz evening while the kids had "room service". The lodge offers different kind of accomodations at various price levels.... more

We were driving towards Cape Breton and I thought it sounded like a nice place. It's about 20 minutes off of the highway, very close to the PEI ferry. The location is absolutely gorgeous! We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin (1 king and 1 queen) that overlooked the ocean - I believe it was recently constructed. Very clean inside... more
