Staff was helpful in providing directions to local restaurants. Overall cleanliness of hotel was not great. Upper floor is non smoking but to get to your room you have to go through hallway on first floor which smelled of smoke. Continental breakfast consisted of only breads, cereals, and fruit.

They gave us a smoking room even though that was not what we had booked. We had no choice at that point as everything in town was booked out. Staff were rude on phone when we tried to point out that this was a major problem (we were travelling with an infant). Room was run down.

We just got back from a group trip to Belleville - we had 14(ish) rooms booked. The group gathered tonight after we got home and everyone was commenting on how awful this place was. The entire place reeks of old cigarette smoke. Was in town on business for a week and moved to the HI after the first night. The poor air quality rendered me barely able to speak in the morning. Breakfast bar was very small and sucked.

Perfectly fine. Nothing fancy. We walked in with no reservation. Very courteous front desk lady showed us the room before we booked it. Our room was clean, no objections. As there is no elevator, they offer a $5 discount for the 2nd floor. Continental breakfast in the morning was adequate, nothing fancy.
