A horrible place. We pre-booked a non smoking room for 3 days, but when we showed up, they had only one night booked in, and no non-smoking rooms left. Entering the room is indeed reminiscent of entering a CSI crimescene. Homies on the street, lots of noise and talking on the carpark in front of the hotel at night The... more

I am not the type to complain, and am not picky nor grossed out easily. This is one of those rare cases where I was digusted, and quite upset. We paid $130 dollars for a one night stay in a non-smoking room (but were placed NEXT to a SMOKING room). Our room also featured: - heavily stained carpet - stained... more

The place isn't quite as bad as some of the other reviews may indicate. The staff was courteous and friendly. Nothing too horrid about the rooms, although they do need some touch ups - cracked ceilings, peeling paint, sticky door knobs, etc...but I guess you get what you pay for. Main problem was the noise...I was awoken at 2 in... more

Haha - Though I say the Rest Inn is bit of a crack house, I've stayed here on 4 separate occasions and recommended friends and family here because of the price and location. Probably the closest hotel to the bars in the Hub (Stages, etc.), also the cheapest hotel close to campus, across the street from a Tim Horton's which... more

Our room was booked by a friend and then I read the OLD reviews from 2004 on this site and was VERY apprehensive. However, I am pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised as were the other 3 people travelling with me. I don't know what accounts for the drastic change from the reviews I read to the actual experience... more

Seriously, don't stay here. It has had a really bad reputation for as long as I can remember - I'm a Kingstonian born and raised. I recently stayed there as I have moved to Toronto and was back in town to see friends, and against my own memories I booked a room here as it is the cheapest in town.... more

There is not really alot i can say here, the fact you consider this place to be "Horrid" yet stayed here says enough to me about you.. Also you may want to note that our avg price is much lower than 80% of other Kingston motels. It is not $10 more to stay at the Super 8, but you may...

They're nice when you're booking...[------] you over when you cancel, and now i'm out $145.60 for two nights I had cancelled well in advance for. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. BAD SERVICE AND DISHONESTY, what worse combo is there in a business? I am a first year university student, and I had booked to stay with Rest Inn for... more

Room was booked and a confirmation # was given. Rooms sat empty on a weekend where we could have rented it (Queens students moving) so i have nothing to gain by charging someone while im turning other people away. She contested the charge with Visa and lost due to the fact we followed all guidlines. When you book a room...

Having checked other properties only to find them fully booked we stumbled on Rest Inn. The review and pictures looked good. With nothing else available we booked a room for one night. This is an older property that could have a better maintance program. Upon entering our room it was evident repairs had been done. Not all of them professional.... more

A group of us had reserved rooms at The Rest Inn for Sat Jun 25/2005. I was the last to arrive due to a flat tire on my motorcycle. The Rest-Inn staff had graciously kept my room available, even though they were full. Check-in was very fast. The room was clean and everything except the hair dryer worked. Shower delivered... more
