I recently had yet another wonderful stay at Melfort Cottage. I visit my elderly father in Oakville two or three times a year from overseas, and I always find Melfort Cottage a restful and convenience place to stay.
The location is terrific - steps from downtown Oakville, which has beautiful shops and lots of great restaurants. Lake Ontario is just a few blocks away, and the Town of Oakville has gone to great lengths to construct public walking paths along the water's edge.
The bedrooms are located on the lower level of the cottage, with lots of windows which open, a feature I value for a good night's sleep. The beds are very comfortable, with immaculate white Egyptian cotton and excellent quality pillows and duvets. The bathroom is steps away from the bedrooms, and plush terrycloth guest robes ensure privacy for users.
While the bedroom areas are softly-lit and restful, the upstairs is bright and airy, with a spectacular view over the owner's award-winning white garden... more
