My wife is a teacher who was attending a conference in Ottawa and we don't mind budget hotels as long as they are decent. We seemed content with the Embassy West and it was close to the conference location. When I phoned and asked for a possible corporate rate, I was given a winter special rate of around $85 and... more

After we checked in, it became obvious we got a real dud. The room was unbelievably dirty and old looking. The walls were cracked, bathroom was very grimy with cracked tiles. The bed was very hard, only 2 bath towels were provided. I can't think of one nice thing to say about this place. To top it off at 8:30am... more

If you are looking for an inexpensive room for the night and are not expecting any extras - you can't beat this place.... Went to SENS game last week and found this hotel on hotels.com. Booked the room for $65 with hotels.com on telephone 5minutes before we walked in and no problems. Checkin staff was friendly - in fact they... more

After reading some of the reviews I was worried but booked anyways. The place was clean. The staff was OK. it was well situated for our requirements. Some jerk yelled in the hall at 23:00 but that's not the hotel's fault I would recommend the place and they are renovating so it will get better. more

So I read these reviews, got turned off from the hotel and went back to trying to find something reasonably priced and close to the venue I needed to be at. When neither parameter could be met, I thought well, I'll book the hotel for one night and if it's really bad, I'll move for the other 5 nights I'm... more

Stayed here over the Civic Holiday weekend, it was nothing to write home about. The hotel is quite old and the facilities shows its age. The elevator was somewhat defective as we couldn't get to our floor until after a couple trys (the buttons have no indicator on them). The room is a bit small for the price that they... more

I brought a team from BC to attend a National Championship tournament a few weeks ago and stayed at the Embassy West which was a "suggested" hotel by the booking agency for the tournament. We arrived at midnight and found that we were given rooms in a construction zone. There were tarps stapled on the walls that were opened up... more

The Embassy West was nothing special; it was just a place to sleep, so I didn't spend that much time there. The quality of the room was somewhat disappointing though - the bedsheets were stained; there were black mould spots in the shower; the washroom wasn't that clean and was tiny. However, the bed wasn't hard and was quite comfy.... more

The hotel receptions has a very bad customer service. It's not what you expect when you pay for a 3 star hotel. No "Hi", no information provide for the guest once checked in. Nice location and look good inside but the room is quite old. more

Our team booked rooms for two nights at this hotel while participating in a youth baseball tournament in Ottawa. Upon entering the hotel, it looks nice. It all begins once the elevator door opens. The elevators state an occupancy of 7 people. A friend with an infant in an infant carrier hanging off her arm, tight to her chest, myself,... more
