If you're starting a week's houseboat rental with Egan Marine on Pigeon Lake (http://www.houseboat.on.ca/) on a Saturday, this is a great place to spend Friday night (they'll take one night bookings). We did. Karl can give you directions. Egan is nearby.
It's also a good choice for a nice B&B weekend. The main suite is downstairs. There are two comfortable queen beds (use of both for two people costs extra). Rates are around $80 CAN / night. Decor is probably more fulsome and feminine than your in home, but the view of Pigeon Lake at sunset is on what you should really focus.
Both Karl and Ann are good conversationalists and interesting people. Karl is the cook of the recently-married family. Ask for his sweet potato pancakes for breakfast.
