The Fairmont Royal York is centrally located. The excellent user-friendly subway system is only one block from the hotel and allows easy access to the city's main attractions. Unlike others I was not expecting a Four Seasons experience while at the Royal York. I was hoping for a clean room and good service in a location that was close to the activities that we planned on taking in while in town. What we got was somewhat different. When you go to a Fairmont hotel, you have expectations. The Royal York is in serious need of updating. Pretty much everything from the lobby to the rooms is faded and looks old. This hotel really exceeded our expectations. It's big, it's classy, it's central. The staff are just so helpful and pleasant. We got a really good deal here and couldn't believe our luck.
