Stayed five nights at the Royal York. Loved the location which meant I could walk everywhere with the access to underground walkways. The Royal York in Toronto was a very nice hotel. The hotel had a very nice atmosphere about it typical of a Fairmont hotel. The staff at the check-in were very friendly and accomodating. Although the lobby and main areas were beautiful and very classy, the guest rooms left something to be desired. My carpet was sticky, the walls were dusty and I was given towels that could have used a run through the wash with bleach. The bathrooms are very tiny - you have to close the door to get to the sink.... more

Just arrived back from a 3 night stay at the fairmont. Was disappointed with our room just seemed a little tired and run down not really what we expected but saying that we had a wonderful time and your not in room for long!! Nice bar and lovely breakfast in Yorks Kitchen and great location more

I stayed here while I was in Toronto for a conference. The hotel was booked, so they gave me a smoking room. The room wasn't worth the price and the smoking room lived up to its reputation. The lobby ws elegant, but the room just okay. save your money and stay somewhere else. more
