This hotel was recommended to me by my travel agent as a good hotel with reasonable rates. I had never heard of this hotel before so I checked their website for photos and reviews, the reviews were okay but the photos made the hotel look like it was modern, secure and clean. Wrong! On the first night I checked in... more

Dear Guest, We regret that your stay at the Glen Grove was marred by some unfortunate incidents. The pictures on our website are those of our suites and we have noted your observations about the air conditioner. Being a smaller property, we don't have 24hr maintenance service. As for bed bugs, we're fanatical about this issue. We recognize that there's...

I've been staying at Glen Grove Suites midtown for over two years now. Love it! Great access to the TTC subway (all underground), restaurants, theaters, stores, and other services. It's a clean and quiet place to stay. Management has been very responsive to every request. more

The hotel itself is pretty nice, with a full kitchen and apartment amenities, however the service is the worst you will ever get and I mean EVER. Just look at how the hotel manager accuses every single patron of lying! You would think most hotel managers would at least like to appear to be diplomatic (even if they did think... more

Dear Guest, At the onset, we would like to thank you for your kind words about our amenities and full kitchens. We are disappointed that the service levels were not to your satisfaction and we deeply apologize for the unpleasant experience you encountered. We have made several changes since then to our staff roster including stepping up training levels. We...

I have visited Toronto on many occasions and stayed in many locations and am a frequent traveller for business and family fun. On this occassion we stayed here at the Yonge location because it was close to a family member and seemed great for a family stay with 2 kids based on the website photos. What a mistake I made.... more

It is unfortunate that the reviewer has "padded" his reviews with some rather malicious comments instead of simply addressing the problems that he faced. As regards his primary complaint - the room was cold. Yes, winter has arrived early this year and the property did have the heat on at the time. However, each suite does not have individual climate...

Several months ago the travel agent of my company made a reservation to the downtown location at 50 John Street. When I arrived my room was not available. After waiting for 30 minutes I was told that my reservation had been previously canceled. I called my travel agent and they confirmed that according to their record I had a valid... more

We're disappointed at the guest's misstatement of facts in this case. The gentleman made his booking and then canceled it via our instant reservation module. We have proof of this. Obviously, as he didn't have a reservation, we didn't allocate the room towards his reservation. Despite the city being sold out due to a convention, our staff offered to accommodate...

Horrible night at Glen Grove. We booked 2 nights at this hotel because of the proximity to our family's apartment. Our first impressions weren't too bad. The place was a little old, but it didn't look too dirty (except for the shower), and the place seemed to be basically what we paid for. However, at night there was a huge... more

We stayed at Glen Grove Midtown with our 2 children in May 2007. As a former resident of Toronto, I know the area really well and the location is fantastic. The size of the suite was perfect for our family but there were many things about it that we found disappointing. The bathroom was most disgusting... mold on the small... more

Although this property is decently situated near shops and restaurants, the staff that works here really brings down the experience. I have never met so many unhelpful, uninspiring people. From the moment we walked in, til the day we left, we were met with apathy by just about everyone that works at the property. They need a serious overhaul of... more

Travelers beware! I made a reservation for 8 days for my visiting guests from overseas. I inspected the place and requested a quiet room away from the traffic noise for my elderly guests. The receptionist (and "manager", acc to him), Michael, was unfriendly and later on, downright rude. He really should not be in the hospitality business; he acts like... more

We (a family of 5) never actually stayed at this hotel but did have a look at the room and left. We were told of this "heritage" apartment hotel and due to the location and the price, decided to give it a try. It was touted as an executive 2 bedroom suite w/1 bath apartment hotel in a renovated heritage... more
