Stayed there for a meeting, got a Govt rate, as I was on official business. The room was stated as Executive. Check in was fast but with attitude. Did get a 5$ discount for breakfast and a 20% reduction on the restaurant, but at 19$ a breakfast, I didnt take advantage of this offer. The room was small, but well... more

I've been to this hotel a few times in the past year, so I knew what to expect. It is not as central a hotel as other options in the city, but it is still reasonably close to the financial core, show venues and other tourist attractions. Just budget a leisurely 20-minute walk to either of them... except for the... more

Bring your own lunch as there is no room service facility available from 11.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Suggest to rename the hotel as " Metroplitan Motel". Rooms are small. more

We felt like we needed a vacation after our stay here to recover from the poor service, lack of basic amenities, run-down and smelly rooms and frustratingly inexperienced and absent house staff at this hotel. NOTE: this hotel has no double occupancy rooms - only singles and "suites" (one queen bed and one pull out couch). The only redeeming qualities... more

I've stayed here several times on business, and the price of the room was covered by my group, so I really have no comments on that. My complaint is with their internet service. I've stayed in many hotels across Canada and around the world. Some hotels charge for internet access and some don't. That's fine. BUT, when a hotel DOES... more

This hotel appears poorly managed overall. My booking included fees for services which the hotel could not provide, such as parking and turndown. My dining companion found cellophane in the entree ordered at their restaurant. The rooms are dated. It is surprising to me that it is within the Preferred Hotels marketing program, which usually includes higher-standard hotels. more

I recently stayed at the Metropolitan for 6 nights on business. I found it to be a great location. It was handy for all parts of the city. The bed was very comfortable, but the rooms were in need of overall cosmetic touch-ups. One point about the front desk staff is that they were all efficient to the point of... more

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and for just over $100 per night, we couldn't expect more. From the outside, the hotel looks great and the lobby is average. The location is quiet and very central -- you are two blocks from the Eaton Centre. The room was very tiny and the bed was comfortable... more

The Metropolitan Hotel is one of many hotels in Toronto, which is tucked away on a back street hiding its many delights. Located on one side of Nathan Philips Square the hotel is ideally located close to all events which take place on the square from massive charity walks and concerts to various cultural concerts and markets, wonderful!! The hotel... more

We have stayed in this hotel twice and had the same ho hum experience both times. The rooms are small and reasonably priced but EVERYTHING else is expensive and very poor. WiFi is expensive and not included in the room rate. The "Business Center" has two computers and a printer which is not nearly enough for such a large hotel.... more
