We paid Cdn $80/night plus tax and stayed two nights on a delightful weekend. Location is tops--Bay & Bloor area. If you don't know Toronto, the 4-Seasons and the Hyatt are on the next block, tony condos border it on all sides and the Ferrari/Maserati showroom is next door. Yet despite the expensive location and low price, we got a... more

The HoJo Yorkville is the worst hotel that we have stayed at in Toronto. Thank goodness for wallpaper in the halls - it's the only thing holding the plaster on, on the 7th floor. The tiles were falling off the wall in the bathroom. The carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The mattresses are the old style... more

I'm from Toronto and only stayed at this hotel because of a problem our city had with a water main break that left a quarter of the city with no electricity and no heat on one of the coldest winter nights ever. I have slept in many hotels and even motels over the years but never like this. I was... more

I stayed at this hotel on dec 27/08. I am orginally from Toronto, i have stayed at many hotels around the world. I paid $89 canadian for one person in a room with a double bed. The hotel is located just one block from the subway in the heart of downtown, great location. The lobby is older but pleasant, the... more

Stayed here, largely because the room was $109. Booked for five nights. Reception was terrible - my key wouldnt open the lock after four attempts up and down in the lift, before the girle eventually moved me to a room with working lock - i think she thought it was me. On the plus side, I did enjoy her drawing... more

This is a very poor hotel. It is not clean and to say that the rooms are tired would be an understatement. Forget the free breakfast. The coffee was undrinkable. Additionally, if you are visiting the U of Toronto, be ready for a lengthy walk. Look for somewhere else. more

Chose this hotel at the last minute. Very friendly staff, but the hotel doesn't have that many rooms so it's definitely a "Mom and Pop" operation. Bring your confirmation number with you as their computer system wasn't initally able to find my reservation. The hotel is really in need of renovation and updating. If you only want a clean room,... more

Looked around for an affordable hotel in downtown Toronto and was really pleased with this place. It was clean, and in one of the best neighbourhoods in Toronto. The Royal Ontario Museum is steps away, as are great and affordable restaurants and the Metro/Subway is a block away. The beds were comfortable, neighbourhood was quiet at night, very friendly staff,... more

We arrived to toronto ( I had booked the Royal York, Fairmont) to learn that my travel agent had booked the wrong night. There was absolutely NOTHING else in Toronto ( the concierge at the Fairmont was kind enough to phone everyone in the city) because of some Boston Redsocks game here in town. The Fairmont had to sadly turn... more
