I didn't even get beyond a phone call asking about my dates to stay! I was looking to add one night to a reservation I had committed to elsewhere in town, and I was snapped at that QUOTE: "I don't do singletons (one-nighters)!! It's too much work! Go find a hotel or talk to your other bed and breakfast and let them get you a room, not me!" Then she hung up. Clearly this owner needs some other line of work and just wants the money, not the hosting experience. more

The Vanderkooy B&B is ideally located, in a charming - and very safe - residential neighborhood right off of Yonge Street and a block from the subway. Also, only about a ten-minute walk from the University/museums - you don't need a car to explore from here. The bedroom and adjoining bathroom were very clean and well-kept - nice central A/C, too. Only quibble is that although Joan V. stated the breakfasts were to be served at 8:30, by the time we finished, it was close to 10 AM. Very well-meaning hostess, but if you wish to get an early start, please inform her the evening before. All in all, certainly well worth the money.
