I stayed for a week in August and several days in October -- both were very good experiences. Mr. Pimblett and his staff create a charming, cozy environment and are friendly, capable and helpful. The B&B is decorated in a charming Victorian/Royal theme. There are washrooms, TVs, and thoughtful conveniences in the rooms (some have balconies or separate entrances). I was given keys to the front door and my room so could come and go... more

i you're looking for a truly unique, yet super-located facility in which to stay in toronto, we can recommend Pimblett's Downtown B&B as outstanding. Eclectic simply doesn't get it, either as regards the facility, or the host, or the food-preparer. It also applies to your fellow guests. Should we have the opportunity to return to toronto, there's no doubt as to where we'll stay. It's GREAT! more

I highly recommend Albert Pimblett's downtown Bed and Breakfast as it oozes charm and character. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very good value for money. Geoffrey and his 'man servant' aka John (who serves scrumptious breakfasts) make a comic duo and are really the highlight of the b & b. They also have a dog, Brewster, who is only too eager to welcome you to the house! The location is perfect, being located in... more

I was warmly greeted and sincere concern was shown for me and my belongings. After a quick tour and explanations of breakfast time and other amenities, I was turned to come and go as io pleased. Every morning was filled with the lovely aromas of bacon, sausage, eggs and John's (the cook) exquisite pancakes, along with fresh fruit, juice and other delicious items! This is a very convenient and affordable location in the heart of... more

Despite the friendly and interesting character of the owner and his friends, I can't rate this b and b highly. There was stuff everywhere, some of it interesting but this is the definition of clutter. You wondered how he'd manage to cook breakfast (same every day) or where to sit. Our room was not serviced daily, had torn wallpaper and drapes, and was missing 2 of the 3 pieces of the door molding in the... more

The decor, the furniture, the amazingly helpful and polite (and wonderful cook!) and innkeeper made for a very pleasant anniversary getaway for myself and my husband. We enjoyed the Bewdley room so much we have decided to make it an annual tradition. Pimbletts is an excellent bed & breakfast in downtown Toronto. more

Being retired, I travel 5 months a year, so I seek out sensible places of character, in central locations. And B&B's like Pimblett's are perfect for getting local and current insight so wasted tourist-time is minimised Geoffrey Pimblett is the perfect and genial host, surrounded by his vast collection of "treasures". The individual rooms take advantage of this and are themed (great fun) Mine came with a ghost, but she probably only called when I... more

The owner was friendly and accomodating (we booked only one day in advance) to my husband and myself during our stay - he gave interesting historical facts and useful advice about the area (including dining, attractions and transportation). We found the pets of the B & B to be friendly and calm (very cute to boot). The amenities were outstanding and everything that we needed was included (soaps, shampoo, towels, hairdryer, heat & A/C, internet... more

I was in Toronto for a business trip and found this jem of a bed and breakfast. Located just off the Yonge Subway line (College station) and a 5 min streetcar ride the location of this bnb was close to my meetings and central to everything that I wanted to see. When I was doing my research I looked on Google maps and the distances from everything seemed far but don't let it deter you.... more

If you are looking for me to sum this up in one word - 'Grubby' would be the one. As soon as the door opened the greeting from John worried us. He stood there in his stained t-shirt and allowed us to move our cases into the very cluttered 'lounge' whilst they prepared our room. We walked into Toronto wondering what to do next and on the way back we checked if the local hotel... more

Management response from

We are not a Hotel of Victorian Splendor, we advertise ourselves as fun affordable and well located. Clean rooms, updated bathrooms and good hospitality. We are deeply sorry that this guest was disappointed with our Toronto Bed and Breakfast. Our bed and breakfast is a home, lived in by Geoffrey the owner, his dog and cat, also a live in housekeeper Mr. Lawrence who works relentlessly keeping the place up to scratch and our breakfast...
